Ive heard this too. I think its more for water penetration into the soil...Dont quote me on it though

I use oxegenated version of your normal household dishwashing liquid... Just a couple of drops per litre should be fine, It breaks surface tension making it harder if not impossible for magnafying beads to form.

Cheers kwaka

P.s. Also dont quote me on it, but fairly sure as I sometimes mist my girls (lights on) and have yet to find a burnt leaf

I didnt read the link but I believe its called a surficant. It makes your water wetter if you will. It works with most things. I learned it in a noxious weed program. just a couple drops in your solution when applying a herbicide such as 2-4d a broadleaf herbicide or a non discriminate herbice such as roundup pro. But basically it will also work for anything like your foliar feed solution etc. I have even made my own winshield wiper solution with a little more than half methyl alcohol- d.i. water and a couple drops of concentrated dish soap as the secret ingrediant to make it uniform on your winshield. But not enough to sud up or even to be able to tell. It works, heping your main chemical bind and acts as a inert addition to your cocktail.
