What a question lol. You shouldn't "stay away" from anything. Grow how you want to grow but judging from your question you need to spend some more time browsing this site before you start a plant, or a sea of green. I will tell you though that sog, i would not say is more difficult than other growing methods, but definately takes more knowlege and experience with cultivating marijuana. There is more work to be done physically and mentally when growing sog. I would suggest starting out smaller. Or maybe a Scrog.

Thats "See Of Green".Dont you just love the sound of that? Say it! hehehe, SOG just means that you maximize your grow area

Any method that maximizes your yield is "good" but any method other than tossing a handful of seeds out in the lawn is going to take a bit of work, the results are worth it. I prefer the ScrOG method but it involves far too much work for the number of plants typically found in a SOG grow. ScrOG is is an excellent method for smaller spaces and smaller lights. Depends on how much time and experience you have, what your needs are and how much work you are willing to put in. Figure out what you can do first then select a method by researching, reading then reading some more, nothing good comes easy.
