Soil grow... Pot size determine yield????

I was wondering if anyone can help me out
How much does the pot size really affect the yield???
Ive heard that people have got 2-5oz per plant in 3g buckets/bags.
But all the info i find says the bigger the pot size the better the yield. I had a friend do a grow in 30g bags and he got 4-8oz per plant. Average 6oz per.. It just seems that for the amount of space and soil used it is worth it to stick to 3-5g buckets and yield 2-6oz rather than have big ass 10+gallon bags or buckets and only get 1-3 more oz's... Can anyone give me some insight on this? I appreciate the help very much!

Pot size definitely has an effect on the yield.

I have a perpetual grow so I grow from clones and keep my plants small. I use 2 gallon bags, my plants are happy and yield around 2 oz. per small plant. If starting from seed and growing indoors Id say 3-5 gallon pot would be fine. Bigger the better though.

dunno if its just the pots size lots of other factors? i havev grown soil in 6.5,11,15 and 25 litre pots and yeah the 25 pots yielded the most but they were also vegged the most to be able to grow into the pot b4 veg?

thanks for the help. I do know there are mannnnny other factors that go into it but my biggest wonder was this.... I agree 3-5g is best for how much space i have. I have clones that have been vegging in a 3g bucket for 3 weeks so far. They are about 12-18in tall. Im thinking about transplanting them into a 5-6g bucket soon to veg for a little bit longer and cut some clones off then flower them in the 5-6g bucket...

On this grow I decided to do a little experiment. These are both autos. Started at the same time. Top of the pots are the same distance from the CFLs. Same FF soil. Same nutes. One of the pots is a 1 gal. The other I think is a 3 gal. You be the judge. These will be harvested in a week.

No veg time. Total of 9 bulbs 26w each. I have these on 24/0 from seed to harvest (approx 8 weeks). Gotta love them autos.

pot size makes a difference. just as a reference i am including a pic. in this pic you will see 3 plants grown from seed. they are all 4 weeks old and have been under t5 lights their whole life on the same schedule. these seeds were ALL PLANTED ON THE SAME DAY, germed in paper towels and all had tails. they are all mr nice master kush x afghan haze. you will notice that the two in large black 3 gallon pots are absurdedly larger than the one in the starter pot. i should point out this is not a perfect example because they were all started in starter pots and the 2 large ones were transplanted there about 2 weeks ago, so i suppose we could all argue about whether it was the extra soil/nutes or the extra space, but the difference is OBVIOUS. the one in the starter pot looks like a runt. guaranteed to take off when it gets its new home.

I have seen some incredibly large yield coming from small soil masses. It is a major factor but I think it is less important than all the other factors combined for most growers.

on youtube theres a dutch fella who uses 300gallon pots and they are like trees lol,cant imagine how long he must of vegged for,peace.

I was also wondering about that. I have 4 plants, two were planted a week after the others. The latest ones are in smaller pots, they're all at the end of the flowering but the plants in a smaller pot are 4 times smaller than the other ones.
