soil ph issues and dolomite lime

Unfortunately after using FFOF my plants are suffering from major nute lock out. I measure the ph of the soil run off and it was very acidic right around 5.0. The FF grow big nutes I was giving my plants along with also tested a very low ph. I use distilled water to water and feed my plants. My question is will adding some tap water from my sink which has a ph level around 8.4 help correct the problem? My second question is would adding dolomite lime to the remaining of my ocean forest still in the bag help reduce the low ph and prevent the problem from happening in future grows, or should I just stop using the soil and switch to something else like Roots Organic?

I have learned that the ph of runoff is a very controversial topic. Some believe in it, while others do not. I say you can add 2 tbls of dolomite lime per gallon of FFOF or FFHF. The most important points are not to overwater, both in volume and frequency. Also do not over feed. Keep your water going in at 6.4-6.5 and you will be fine. Let the soil work. If you screw with it you will cause problems. I have learned to use FFOF by leaving it alone and letting it do its job. Just water it when your containers are light and watch the nutes. Less is more. Do not use fertilizer with FFOF for 4-6 weeks.

Thanks man. Also I have heard that adding too much lime can not harm your plant because it is only activated when the plant needs it due to acidic soil. Is this true?
