Don't sweat that! That ph is just fine. Soil buffers ph on its own so unless what you are pouring in is way out of spec you don't need to worry about it.

Edit: don't flood your soil trying to get a ph reading where you want it. In fact you don't need to check the runoff at all as long as you didn't screw it up to begin with.

Thats because runoff pH is not an indicator of the soils actual pH. Only growers you will find reading runoff pH is cannabis growers that follow forum BS. Then they start chasing their tails. My guess would be you are stressing over nothing.
And how is the inexperienced one meant to tell between BS and fact? I'm sure most people (including myself) are here to learn. Don't diss someone for having a go or fucking up. That's asshat material.

ffof depending in location has different ph. If yu get a bag of ffof on the south east USA they use pine bark which is more acidic compared to cali etc with hardwoods. The ph does vary esp when the pH is 5.0 51 roughly and does cause lock outs n such as the plant can uptake nutes are desired levels as to why you pH soiless mediums and soil when nutes are used.

Unfortunately if you are getting your horticultural info from a cannabis forum you are getting mostly BS. There are several growers on here who know what they are doing. You can usually tell who they are because the majority will be flipping them shit or they will give very vague answers due to those who flip the shit!

You are correct. As for the east coast soil, you have to amend prior to using in order to fix the issue. Pouring ph'd water into soil wont change the soil ph it will only change the ph of the water coming back out. Soil less medium needs input since there is no buffering happening.
My point was as long as you are not pouring water with a ph way out of range the soil will buffer it back to what the soil is already ph'd at. My tap water is 7.14 ph. A bit high for soil but causes no ill effects with any of my strains. Now on the other hand the high calcium in my water causes a lockout of magnesium on one of my strains so I add epsom salt to that plants water. I haven't checked runoff for over a year so I have no idea what it is. My current soil mix has done very well and I don't see any fade until day 56 of a 65 day strain using clear tap water.

It's a fucking sad case if it is like that mate. This forum is here to teach people not play school yard games with them (RollitUp - The Marijuana Source . org).

Nowhere does it state around here that you need all of your weed "horticultural info" from anywhere but here... lol

It is very sad indeed! It took reading books and educational information not related to cannabis in order to learn how a plant and its roots work. Weed growers try too hard! Most also hang out on these forums reading. Google or Bing will get you more than enough info to grow a green plant easier than weeding through all of the bad info on the cannabis grow forums.
I'm not saying you cannot get the right info here or on other forums but you have to be able to see the myths for what they are and only absorb the proper information.

I suggest everyone purchase and read "Teaming with Nutrients" It will give you a very good understanding how a plant works and will help you see the myths.

It is sad, but there are people on here with one grow acting like fucking master growers. This is not how RIU intended it to be, this is just how dumb ass people act.

Sorry to say, you do have to sift through a lot of bullshit and it's unfortunate that some new growers have to go through that.

I would suggest every new grower read read and then read some more.

I hope this does not discourage you. There is a lot of good info on these boards as well

Good luck and happy growing

Absolutely. Couldn't agree more with the both of you. Would just like to add that once you've read until your eyes bleed (no matter what you've read or where you read it), get your hands dirty and you'll eventually find out for sure. All roads lead to success, no matter what path you take. As long as you keep moving forward, you will get there. This can help you achieve anything in your life, not just the grow room/patch ;)

So I'll answer my own question... From my limited experience so far, first-hand experience is truly the only way to learn and decipher fact from utter BS. Even if you hear fact from someone, it will not sink in or become absolutely apparent until you actually experience it for yourself. Then you'll know who is on themselves and who is on the game...

Until then, best judgment is required. But you don't even have that down yet so it's trial and error until you do.
