Like the title says. Im tired of the back breaking soil work, so i am changing to h2o. My question is this. I am stuck between two simple systems.
The first choice being ebb and flow tables. which i have a real good understanding.

My questions come when looking at the second choice of setups. In the ed rosenthal growers handbook on page 273 it shows a reservoir system where there is a tub with 2-4 inches of nutrient solution with a bubble strip. There are planters placed directly into the reservoir. the bottom 1/4 of the planter is filled with hydroton and the remainder of the planter being filled with a soil less mix or even just a full planter of hydroton. I cannot find any of these setups online. Is there a reason for this ? has anyone seen them perform. It seems extremely easy to setup and to maintain.
please give me some input ,. or should i just go with an ebb and flow setup.

DWC. 5-gallon units. Much easier to handle, maintain and get your feet wet. Figuratively speaking of course.
