soil to hydro

i figure this is ok and shouldnt hurt to bad but i wanna ask and check the risk before it gets done. my buddy and i have been growing 6 plants in soil and they are about 3 inches tall each. What we want to know is would it be ok for us to take the plants we have, wash all the soil off of the roots and put them into hydro. i know it will create some stress or what ever but will it be to much. i guess that final one is will these live?

next question. we have an assortment of the different kind of cfl's and i know your supose to use one kind for veg and one for bud but just to add light is it ok to use a mixture of different types of cfl's?

thanks and +rep for real helpers.

just be very careful with the root systems...I have done this a few times before...so you should be fine.....if you have a kitchen sink with a disposal and a hose with a sprayer on it use that...the disposal will take care of the dirt that washes off...the sprayer will get it all off....mix your lights all you want...I use both metal halide(blue) as well as an hps(orange) for both my veg and flower cycles...i think my plants love getting both colors of lights
