Hey guys,
I just got my first grow setup, hoping to have a few questions answered here!
First off, my setup:
4' x 4' x 80" tent
2 - 400w (~200 actual) Roleadro COB LED
General Hydroponics Waterfarm
4" carbon fliter -> 4" inline fan -> ducting, with passive intake down low w/ ducting and 90 degree angle
2 - 6" clip fans
GH Flora Nutrients, going off of the Lucas Formula
1 - Orange Sherbet (Agent Orange x Sunset Sherbet) clone from dispensary
18/12 veg, 12/12 flower
I got the clone on 4/21, was pretty short and bushy already with one leaf that had been cut some (looked as though it was dying a little). While rinsing the soil off to transplant, I lost a few of the roots (maybe 5 or 6, but yikes!). When I transplanted it I put it in the hydroton level with the drip ring and then watered the clone in with water pH'd down to 5.8, didn't mess with ppm as PDX water registered at 15 ppm from tap. I put my lights at 28" above the plant for the first to days to try and ease it into the light and take some stress away from the whole transplanting process.
On 4/23, my pH had risen to 6.5, so I decided to change out the reservoir and add a tiny bit of nutrients. I added 2ml of GH Micro and 4 ml of GH Bloom (ppm ~220), then after letting that sit for an hour pH'd down to 5.8 and added this solution after emptying and cleaning the reservoir. I also started some LST as many small leaves were already showing potential sites for tops, and I'm planning on doing a SCROG.
I checked it again today when I got home from work and pH was up to 6.3, so I drained the reservoir a little bit and added the rest of the solution from 4/23 with 1ml of pH down, reservoir is now back at 5.8pH with ppm ~240. At this point, 3 of the first fan leaves that were larger and had been cut by dispensary where showing signs of dying, so I decided to defoliate them. I'm not sure if I should have done that, but I've basically been stress testing this plant since day 1 and it hasn't show any bad signs as far as I can tell.
My questions are:
-Will my plant recover from losing roots? (seems fine)
-Am I starting LST too soon?
-Was it too soon to defoliate?
-Should I be feeding more, or wait another week before going to 4ml/8ml?
