some simple questions i need answered

i wanna start off by thanking the forums so much for the help!

ok ima order the questions and u can answer them in the same way


1. my plant is about 2 weeks old and healthy "the size of a lighter" i was wondering how soon i could start budding.

2. how short can it be before i make it start "want it to be short so i can hide it"

3. is it ok to have 24 hours of light ive been giving it 18 hours i from reading i guess so it can rest or something

4. how do i make my plant start making buds

5. what the hell is 12/12

You've got a loooong way to go before you can start flowering. I'd say it has to be at LEAST 14" before you get anywhere close to a decent yield.

Here is my take on it, and my own experiences...

1. I have started to induce flowering at 4 weeks.

2. I have done it as short as 8"-12"

3. I believe it is best not to do 24hrs. I am sure others will tell you they do it and it is all good. I think it good to give the plant a rest.

4. and 5.
Once you get to the desired height with your plant you turn you lights on for 12 hrs and off for 12 hrs. (12/12) This is the flowering stage.

What kind of lights are you using and what strain you growing?

idc about a desent yield im moving in 3 months and need this to be smoked by then lol im really just experamenting so i can see what its all about and how easy it is... i hope to never buy again i just want somethin to smoke for my efferts and i need this plant hidden so i dont want it very big


to answer the last post idk what im growing i visited my sister for a while and told her to get me some weed when she goes to get some... i was tinkin i would name it lol cuz ima take it to florida and tell em its called NOKE CHOKE haha im using floresents lights like a 3 foot long light dont know what its watt no fertaliser just factory soil light and filtered water its doing great and is there a way i can make the plant bushy and not very tall



sunnyside im actually moving to florida... weed there isnt that great so i hope this turns out good so i can brag when i go there about VA chronic

1. You can bud anytime you want. The less you veg the less yield you will get off a plant. But very great in SCROG or SOG applications but need many plants. The more you veg the more yield you will get off a plant. Good if you are doing very small number of plants.
2. That is dependant on the strain you are growing. You can also hide a plant by LST. Basically bending it cautiously where the tops would grow laterally versus vertically.
3. It is just better energy conservation and also mimicks how lighting works in nature when you are in vegetative state.
4. Introduce plant in a 12/12 meaning 12 hours of light and twelve hours of dark that is called a photoperiod. I usually place my plants in complete darkness prior to induction of flowering.

thanks much im learning alot from these forums and i think ima be a new dedicated member something im actually interested in also i hear you could put you plant under a black light and it would grow and b a difrent color because its still UV rays just n a difrent hue

you can bud a plant after 4 to 7 weeks if inside the more 2700 k you put on the bigger it will form buds are genetic they grow all sizes the potency is the same at any lenghth of veg stage 4 weeks is the same as 1 yr the dna does it all man

How long do you leave them in "complete darkness" prior to switching to 12 12

you can switch to 12/12 whenever your heart desires , remember your plants will double or even trippple in size once in flower , so if grow room is a problem you dont wanna wait for ever to start flowering , but even if your plants are getting to big theres loads of ways of controlling it , look into LST , topping , fimming etc .
i grow 12/12 from seed in a mini SOG and my plants still get pretty big .
you dont need to put your plants in complete darkness for 36 hours or whatever they say , ive tried it and i have found no benifits from it , but thats upto you .

so you grow yours from seeds in a 12/12 how long does it take before they start to show the first signs of flowering when you start them off like that.
