Thsi jar was and still is at 58-60% the humidity hasmt changed much in the jar just the smell and taste wemt away.
Someone please Help!!!

But you did mention you took some at snap, it tastes bad also?
I don't know if I'm still being helpful. Your bud moisture level doesn't necessarily equal your jar RH. Are your jars air tight?

When you burp the jars you only need to exchange air, so 30 minutes is way overkill. Are you losing additional moisture by burping for so long?

Most old-school growers don't use a hygrometer we go by feel or whatever. See when I go to snap, nice crispy outsides, trim, then put it in the jar, it is always way too moist the next day. That's why you burp. But you can tell that it got moist again. In order to smoke that you pull a bit out and let it dry a while or wait a month+ for it to cure. Curing is good because it further breaks down your unwanted chemicals like chlorophyll and produces a smoother smoke, but it doesn't actually make your buds more loud.
The main reason I jar personally is to keep all the terps in. Now you can hang your stuff in the perfect conditions and air cure for a month or more but your volatile terpenes will float away in the breeze.
If it wasn't for that I wouldn't jar because it makes my buds too wet for a month.
That being said I've went to snap and still had to wait 2 months for it to cure.
Also everyone with good weed goes to snap.
I mean everyone.

Well when his stuff came back positive for mold he stopped growing and shut down his channel.

They should be i use sure tight ball.mason jars . And if the jars rh doesnt equal bud rh why do people say the jars need to be at a certain rh for the buds. Im just asking so i know. All this is very confusing and it may be the genetics. But if uts the genetics its been all 8 genetics ive grown over the last year and a half. I will say the first 2-3 harvest wasnt the best they could have been boof. But i just grew Gorilla skittlze , thumb prints and deisel. And what confuses me more is after first few days of cure maybe a week the gorilla skittlz smelled really good smell but then the next day it was gone.

the humidity in the jar doesnt change much maybe a degree or so. I was thinking that may be part of the issue but wasnt sure. I do know its got to be something im doing becasue i would beleive one or two of the diff strains i grew woild be boof but not everyone.

I beleive jar was 60-62% when it was smelling good. Mu hygromeyers may be off they are thw square minis off amazon. It did have good reviews but that doesnt mean anything

I also saw a youtuber say dont wait for the dnap that its to dry at that point. His name is pigeons420. But i also see where others say wait for snap. Theres alot of contradiction when it comes tonthis subject and so many people say do it different ways. How often do you burp and how long for when needed. It is possible like you said i just have not waited for them tondry out enough in cure. When i hit kne in the bong it doesnt burn clean wbite ash. Ill try what you said and let a peice sit out and try it.

I got two thermometer with hygrometer on Amazon and they read 15% difference.
Yeah ball jars should be excellent that's what I use too.
So if you use a 52-62% humidity pack that's what you store the buds at, that don't mean your buds are staying 50% moisture, they are less than 15% when dried. Honestly don't know how it correlates back to RH from wet bud.

I would just test a little nug. You can get it like crumbly dry I wouldn't worry about over drying, but don't use heat, and even when it's crumbly it should taste better than wet weed. Then u know if it is or not at least.
When I burp I usually just open all the jars and give them a little sniff than put the lids back on. Maybe a minute. Early on I might leave them for longer, first day I'll leave the jar open if they feel too wet.

And if you want to go before snap and do it that way I don't care, if your buds aren't getting moldy, I'm not a know all, but it sounds like a good reasoning to me that your buds could be moist and I'd love for you to make sure because it is a common mistake early on and a pretty easy fix before you start changing your whole grow or plant sources.

No i get that about the buds moisture its self but the more moisture you have in yoir bud when you jar the higher the humidity will be in the jar its self i would assume until the bud is moist enough for jar to be 58-62% i assumed thats where people got the humidity percentage from they call the "cure zone"
