soo.. i bought a 400w hps.. ordering a 60x36x20 grow tent, and a 4" inline fan....

and using a homemade carbon filter (activated carbon for fish tanks in a coffee fan)

is there anything else that i absolutely need? - i previously was growing out in the open in my bedroom with cfls.. that was fine for the first grow (which only got me a total of 5grams..

but my second grow with cfls netted me over 190 grams of wet bud and the whole house REEKED of Sour D, so im copping the tent so i can avoid that smell for next time... is there anything else that is absolutely nessesary (sp) for the grow tent

cooltube or vented hood .. i think you will have temp problems if you dont ..

If you really want to get rid of the smell get a real carbon filter. DIYs help but they will not get rid of the odor. Small 4" filters are around $50, not too expensive.

ok.. and i found out that despite what amazon says in the description, the vents are 6" and not 4"... i noticed that the 6" carbon scrubber are almost $100 and about a foot long.. that seems huge... i guess my real question is.. with something that now appears to be so huge, will my original idea of a inline booster fan from homedepot work or will i have to pony up and get a big boy 6in inline fan... the tent is rather small..lol.. it seems for my want of making something inconspicuous, all the exhast ducting and fans and what not seem to be too much for this tent
