special LED lighting question

Hey there I have finally completed my 'growing system' which is all controlled by a uC and a bunch of relays. I have bought all my sensors, fans, sprinklers, everything is ready except for the lighting. I was thinking about making my own LED setup on the top and sides of the plants.

for the question:
I wonder if I should buy ultra bright white LEDs for that, and if I could add blue/red LEDs under the plants. Thanks for the help

Nah, don't use White ones, waste of time. red and blue ones are teh go
10 reds for every 1-2blue.

I'm using Luxeons, works ok. but 5mm super bright ones in proper wavelengths work better (for reds anyway) you can get 660nm and 690nm which help growing
