Hey all, I'm back!

Going to use this thread as my new grow thread.

Germ'd 3 out of 4 Cotton Candy Fem seeds, and 4 Blueberry Reg seeds, all freshly potted in organic soil mixed with perlite in my new 3x1.5x3' mother/clone tent.

My seeds came from MJ Seeds Canada, and Crop King Seeds.

I'll pick the best Cotton Candy candidate and keep her as a mother and flower the rest. For the Blueberry, I'll clone them as soon as I can, keep a female as a mother, flower any other females right away, and keep the best male separated for my fem seed making and breeding projects in another area of my home.

Heading out camping in the mountains in the morning, so hopefully I'll have some seedlings to take pics of when I return :)

Glad to be back!

Awesome  Should have stuck a picture in there to show your start. Good luck on the journey and keep this thread alive. Peace

My seven new seedlings. The three on the right with curving cotyledons are Cotton Candy Feminized, the rest are Blueberry regular. The one on the far left wasn't germinated, it was just dropped into the soil which is why it hasn't sprouted yet.

My home-made CFL holder holds three 'Y's, with two bulbs per Y. I have five 6500k and one 2700k bulb at this time, inside a piece of 10" industrial flex duct cut in half. Two of these will become mothers, the rest flowered or in the case of males, used in the breeding/feminized seed making projects.

My seven candidate Moms. Top left and three bottom left are the Blueberry, the other three are Cotton Candy. The small one was germ'd in the soil about four days after the first six.

Nearly at the point where I can start cloning them.

Sexing time. This is the start of day five of my seeds in the flower tent after a few weeks in veg.

The back right one is a fem Cotton Candy, so I'm leaving her in flower. The rest are Blueberry which I'm sexing. I'll leave the females to flower in my small tent (I'll eventually replant them into 3 gal pots from the 1 gal pots they are currently in), and I'll take the strongest male, put it into a U-Haul clothing box lined with mylar and get its pollen.

That pollen will be the commencement of my initial education into seed-making and breeding. The strongest female, I'll take after I collect pollen, put her into the U-Haul box, and pollute her with Colloidal Silver, so I can plan my fem seed project.

Don't worry; I have three clones of each BB in my aerocloner prior to sexing, so I know what I can destroy, and what I can veg and flower later. I also have two Cotton Candy moms in my cloning/veg tent :)

Sounds like you have a lot of stuff going on their. Must be hard to keep track on the differences. I have had good success for the past several years breeding and have created some nice strains and saved a bunch of money on beans, as well as biting nails hoping the beans make it (know what I mean?). Its fairly straight forward to make strains, regardless of your procedure used. Its also fun and interesting to experiment with. Are you breeding your CC to your Blueberry? Peace

...your quoting broke, but I think I fixed it here...

I always have a lot going on... my gardens are just a small part of it. That said, I keep track pretty well ;)

I've got a pretty rigid plan both operationally and time-wise. I can not call myself a breeder, as they take years to hone in on specific 'parents' for their stable F1's, but I am very confident I'll be pulling some strong pollen from my BB which I'll pollinate a branch on the strongest female to make good seed.

This project will entail crossing the Blueberry to the Cotton Candy, yes (as above, just a branch). I'll then be making both CC and BB fem seeds after the male process is over (~week 4. ie. 3 weeks from now).

I'm soon to be moving, so I'll have a lot more space to perform these tests, in a much more long-term, controlled environment.

Blueberry takes quite a while in flower to sex. It's been 11 days, and *finally* I can identify one male and one female out of the four I put in.

That's good news. Both of them look extremely healthy. I'll plant the female clones tomorrow and scrap the males. The male I have growing is a very good candidate for my seed making.

I'll up some pics in the next day or two after the last two plants show their sex.

Three of four Blueberry seeds I popped turned out to be female. I've got the male in another room waiting to mature to pull the pollen. I've transplanted the three BB into three gallon pots. There's the BB and the one small Cotton Candy in the pics. I broke a branch, but a piece of tape and it's coming back just fine.

Should be able to pollinate some branches later this week.

Built myself a new cloner tent with 1/2 inch copper tube and mylar, so now I've got a clone tent, veg tent and a flower tent. I'm eyeing moving here soon, so I'll be upping to a 9x5' flower tent, a 2x4' veg tent (which I'll clone in), then a smaller 1.5x3x3' tent for pollination/breeding.

I also got some BC Rockstar today from a local friend, and it is some really nice bud. Going to run with some of that from BC Bud Depot as soon as I move to a bigger space.

My (currently little) veg tent... UBC Chemo, Afghani #1, Cotton Candy and Blueberry:

...and my little cloner tent I built. Those are UBC Chemo cuttings:

Some new pics. My full cloner, full flower tent with my Oasis drip systems put back into place, and some rooted clones I planted yesterday.

Cloner, nearly full. Blueberry, Cotton Candy, Afghani #1 and UBC Chemo.

Flowering the mothers. Two Cotton Candy, a Blueberry, two Afghani and two UBC Chemo (the UBC and Afghani were just put in there tonight). I've also put my Oasis drip systems back into use. Sick of watering by hand.

Blueberry in flower. Going to snap some shots in the morning after lights-out, as the crystals are difficult to see, and these plants are absolutely covered.

UBC Chemo and one Cotton Candy clone just planted out of the cloner yesterday and put into the veg tent. In ~12 days, this little tent will be packed tight.

Looks like a sweet setup. :bigjoint:

Don't mind if I tag along, looking forward to seeing this. :weed:

I am in the process of making pollen with colloidal silver on 7 strains at the moment. I have 4 at 2 1/2 weeks of flower and the other 3 at 1.5 weeks since flip. It is my first attempt, so I hope it works. Like you, I have backup clones incase I need to try again...lol

Keep me posted. I'll watch your current grow. This new batch I've just put into flower will be my first CS test. Now that I have three tents, I have one dedicated to breeding. Also, do you make your own CS like I do? If not, where do you purchase it, and what's its PPM?

hey SPek nice thread .im a beginner in the breeding but super stoked to be getting into it as a hobby.Im wondering how many plants you are selecting from when you choose a male and are you selecting to grab certain genetics from each plant?I'll read back to see if I missed something so don't answer if you covered this.cheers M8

Evening M8,

I made and it is right around 40ppm. I had to buy a different ppm meter to go that low, my bluelab starts at 50 and goes by 10's...lol

Made a good batch of Colloidal Silver last night. Below is how I did it. I was aiming for 40 PPM, but it ended up being 59, which I'm very happy about. I'll be spraying one of my Afghani #1 females tonight to make some pollen. I'll then use this pollen on the same plant to create me some fem seeds.

- heat crock pot on low, 1/4 full of water. Temps got to ~121 degrees. Optimal temp for 40 PPM is 112
- sterilize 1/2 quart mason jar and stirring spoon in a boiling pot on the stove
- prime the new mixture with a few ounces of 8 PPM CS I made earlier in the mason jar
- fill the rest of the mason jar with distilled water
- put this jar into the crock pot as a double boiler, and let it come up to temp
- put the silver in the jar, ensuring it doesn't touch the jar
- pull unit out of the jar every 10 minutes to wipe off the electrodes (silver)
- continue this for ~90 minutes
- test with PPM meter, then pour into brown medicine jars
