Got 1k USD to up grade my grow ops. Know some of what I want to do want to make the best use of the rest.
2 grow ops. Complying with a 4 plant limit.
Indoor grow is a 2x4 veg tent with a 40w sunco blurple 4foot bar light
4x4 bloom tent with 2 mars hydro ts1000s(300w) 4" exhaust fan with carbon filter 1 osolating 6" clip fan on 4" over soil pots. Running cutting edge solutions though happy frog soil.
Out doors I got a 8.5'x8.5' frame low side of the top is about 6'8" high side is about 8'. It has 2 sides covered with landscaping screen to comply with public visibility regulations. Have quality thick greenhouse clear plastic for the colder months it's 5 separate pieces so I can remove them qnd adjust as I please all are off for the summer.
First thing I want is a trim machine bc I hate and trimming ($70-100)
To make full use of my green house I'll need a proper tarp to hold heat over night and light depo properly
Need a 30x30 heavy duty preferably black inside silver outside some pulls wheels about 150' of cord. Light depo needs to be able to be a 1 man job.
Need a new thermometer for heat testing think I broke this year's with its limit at 120F.

300w is week for a 4x4 I can trade out my ts1000s and get one light that is 450-600w or I can swap out my 4x4 for 3 2x2s I like that idea better so I can segregate my strains stager harvest and prevent cross contamination but will also need new exhaust and circulation fans.
Then comes wish list, convince and reduction of future up keep cost.
Thinking I should switch to organic soil and stop buying salts. I can make a big batch my self but it will be $250-350 for all the base and additive and take 3 months to bake. But I should have enough to run a year or 2 and only have minimal cost refortifying it each year. If there are suggestions for factory organics that can be run and easily refortafied I'd like to hear yalls experience
I like the idea of getting an RO machine for my kitchen($170ish) is that counter intuitive to running organics?
Common grow tools I do not currently have ppm/ecm meter, Hydrometer, clone dome, co2 source(I spend a few hrs a night in my room) soil ph meter, jewlers loop.

Where would you spend first, what products/brands would you avoid or recommend

Seems like you have most of the spending decisions made based on budget.

1) First thing I want is a trim machine bc I hate and trimming ($70-100)

2) 300w is week for a 4x4 I can trade out my ts1000s and get one light that is 450-600w - this would be my suggestion since the light is pretty critical. Easier to dial down the intensity than replace what you don't have

3) Common grow tools I do not currently have ppm/ecm meter, Hydrometer, clone dome, co2 source(I spend a few hrs a night in my room) soil ph meter, jewlers loop. - I'd grab a separate ppm/ec and ph meter for testing the water. Apera/bluelab are good.


Adding another tent is great just keep in mind you will need all the accessory items to go with, oscillating fans, inline fans, filters, timers, etc. To me at least, synthetic salts are easier to reproduce similar results as a beginner vs learning how to amend soil correctly but that is just personal preference.

You don't need an RO unless you have a water softener. If you are on municipal water a chlorine/chloramine inline filter will do.

That being said if you have a salt brine water softener look up the (i think) aquabuddy on amazon. The 3 stage 100gpd is like $65. Works incredibly well.

Budget is one thing but also adapting my grow to fit my goals, timing, and just trying to make the best choices. This is a personal grow it dose not produce revenue. I got a influx of revenue and I wanna make the most of it. I started my current grow room in September and still haven't got it dialed in as I keep adding one thing at a time when I got a little. I would like it so I can get my space set up the way it's gonna stay for a long time.I'm more inclined to split up the tent then combine the light. I want to grow more strains of weed, keep them separate just seams like best practices. I got a full time life I'd like to stager my harvest so they are less work and time in one space.
My residual cost are resonable and all the things I need will cause them to go up some and that's fine, but If I can invest a little now while I have it ear marked to save me on the month to month long term it is worth it to me.
I got a water ph pen for water, if I switch to organics I would want one for soil.
Thought process on the ppm/ecm meter and ro was my municipal water is not causing problems now, if I get ro it will never be a problem. And be a benefit to the kitchen
Timing is another thing. If I buy a nice 600w led light I would want a quick turnaround offing my ts1000s(wouldn't be to big of a problem but still) if I split the tent it would be months before I set up the 4th tent and a good while before I got the 3rd rolling

Since you have 2x TS1000.. I’d recommend just getting 2 more, and daisy chain them. In the 4x4. That’s about $240ish..
upgrade to a 6” exhaust (use the 4” as an intake) 140-150 maybe less.. but AC infinity is awesome.

Get some good genetics. (200-300 should get you a few different packs to choose from)
I’d go with a bank that gives freebies with orders. This way you can begin with the freebies.

Bagged potting soil & Dr earth dry amendments would make a first run that much easier.

Love this idea. Got anylinks to related products or good diy vids? Don't know if a grand will get the job done though. And since I only need the green house to function about 3-4 months a year it dose not seam like the best resource allocation. Got a feeling I'm gonna be spending $250-400 just on the tarp pullies and cable unless I can find some awesome deals

Are you only growing 4 plants? This seems like a lot going on for 4 plants growing under your plant limit. Or do you have multiple grows going on that are 4 plants each? If you are actually trying to stay within your 4 plant limit, I would either do 2 in veg and 2 in flower for a more perpetual grow or just run 4 at a time from start to finish. Spreading 4 plants out through greenhouse and multiple tents is not the way to lighten the load and make it easier.

Off the top of my head, because your in a box like frame with a slanted roof.. and not like a hoophouse that you can roll over easily... I would probably rig up a bunch of free/cheap garage door openers to roll up awnings or shades somehow, on the inside of the new polycarbonate panels I would buy instead of ever messing with plastic sheetings again...

I just know I myself can't rely on one guy to open or close some manual contraption everyday, and something automatic would be like spending a little money to get your life back it would seem. Like going on vacation everyday compared to depping a greenhouse by hand. I wouldn't know though. I'm still dreaming of building my own someday too, which I already have the bare trailer frame for. And all the trampoline frame steel arches to hoop it out with. A mobile dep house i can move around, sounds nice!.

2 locations indoor at home and out door at a buddy's place 4 plants each. I'm ok with being over my numbers at home by 2 or 3 plants for a week or so while I have fresh clones rooting and I got a few extra localities to keep a few saplings while I wait for a girl to come down. I wanna grow lots of different weed as opposed to a shit load of the same thing. Think I can split my 4x4 into 2 or 3 smaller bloom tents with no out of pocket cost, put 1 ts in each (got a 3rd light but I would wanted upgraded (100w duelswitch horison)) in each keep the 2x4 to veg clones mothers exc.

As a newbie that wanted to do the same thing and not grow multiples of the same thing, I highly recommend growing similar plants each run. By that, I mean at least the same strain if from seed, but preferably clones. That way, they should ideally grow, feed, and behave similarly. That will make the grow less work and be an "easier" grow start to finish. You can grow a different strain at each location to give some variety. But trying to shoehorn multiple strains that you don't know how they grow in small quantities into the same tent becomes one hell of a workload. That said, if you get a few grows under your belt, take notes, and find a couple strains that grow very similar to each other, then pop those clones in the same tent and run with em.

I was recently my own victim of this when I had 4 plants that grew to be trees and 1 that was a stubby little bush. I had a hell of a time keeping airflow good over everything and keeping the bush somewhere it could get substantial light since it was under all the trees. Live and learn.

Right now I only got 1 plant in bloom will finish in few weeks. Got 1 plant almost done vegging that will probably get move to the outdoor spot (3 in the frame atm) and one clone just starting up. Think I'm gonna pull down the bloom plant move the one in veg and get my home set up going how I want it to stay.

So I'm not going to worry about fucking with my green house it was damn near free and for what it will cost me to make it right I'd be better off just buying a factory greenhouse, am gonna keep about 150-200 ear marked for that eventually when I have a better spot for outdoor opps.
Definitely gonna split the 4x4 into one 2x2 and 1 4x3 2in1. This will give me 3 spaces to flower plus a nursery for my saplings and clones.
Went ahead and order myself a trim machine and the extra inline fans and filters I'll need, already got timer circulation fans nets pots excetra was a little under $300 leaving me with 500ish
For the time being my 2 ts1000s will go in the 2x4 and my horison will get the 2x2 started. 3x3 space won't get started for about 2 months.
I see it as I have 2 options. One really fancy toy or 2 decent ones.
Keep the ts's and the horison where they are and just get a HLG Diablo 350 for the 3x3
Or
Get 2 viparspectra/marshydro/spider farmer 3-450watters put on ts in the 2x2 and holck the other
Option 2 will keep me from using shitty equipment longer, probably save money as I can wait and bargain hunt, hlg dosnt have to do promotions and get me more consistent proformance out of all 3 tents.
Option 1 gets me a really nice toy I'll probably never have to replace

Like a previous poster the one problem I see is : "Complying with a 4 plant limit. " I saw you have two locations so that may be a way around it. But being an outlaw is another solution. The wording "all those living in the place of residence, even if those individuals are not related" could be a problem.

But you apparently have a plan; to grow more strains. I completely understand. Be careful about buying toys that you may not need.

1 tent 1 plant. Staggered schedules so I always have 3 in different stages of bloom and a seedling or clone. Got no problem trashing a few clones if the wrong ppl knock on the door. It's really keeping under 10 to avoid the F. Definitely need at least 1 new toy for the set up to work If I get only 1 I'll be stuck using a substandard light in my 2x2 and I'll be light shopping again as soon as I get more spending cash

My 2 cents, I don’t see a dehuey listed. Some people have luck with smaller cheaper ones but I got a 200$ 500w one that I wouldn’t grow with out that works like a beast if used correctly.

I don’t think it takes much for decent lights but not skilled enough to give cents on that other than that it shouldn’t cost much even for name brand for appropriate lights to start with for decent results.

Is this a bedroom, basement or garage? What are the RH% conditions? I would keep $ aside to possibly get humidity under control with more dehueys or etc depending on size space and how it runs in flower. The more loaded with plants the more humidity which will be way higher in flower vs veg.

The dehuey adds heat significantly, just a heads up, might prompt changes to your space with cooling. Lastly a good chunk of change would go to circulation inside tents I.E mini fans, tower fans. I lost a crop to mold so hense my 2 cents.

It grows so easy it is the most discouraging thing about growing IMO. Not the rot, the mold that can grow in stealth inside the colas. It overtook a whole plant, quick.

This is a finished basement room in a house with cental air. All used tents so far have remaind in the rang of 65-85f and 50-70% rh. room started last fall so idk what summer will bring but i plan on the grow being slowed down a good bit most summers. I got a shit load of extra fan. Got a big pack of cheapos off amazon when i first started just so i would have spares on hand if any brunt out.i git most of what i need outside of lights to run multiple tents.
