Spider mites 5 weeks into flower

Hi all

pretty sure I have a spider mite problem. White spots on the leaves and Really small black specks on the under side. I have removed approx 25 leaves on both plants which were the most affected. What is my best course of action. I’ve not seen any webbing yet and from afar plants look good. What sort of timeframe before they take over the whole plant. I thought the grow was going a little too well:mad: any help or advise would be appreciated. I’m growing outdoors in a greenhouse.

We’ll bro sorry to see this happen to any one . So first off spray with 2 tablespoons lemon juice and 2 tablespoons orange juice 1 tablespoon baking soda to a gallon of water mix well. Then repeat twice a day once in the early morning before sun up and agin after sun down for 7 days then rinse with water after that week every other day at night.:hump: you can not get rid of them this late in flower bro bro:spew::finger: them stupid mites and get some ladybug there you’re best friend rt now and lacewings

Thanks for the replies. I might go down the lemon juice citric acid route. I was already worried about mould with the higher humidity in the greenhouse so il have to try and avoid spraying the buds. If I spot any lady bugs in the garden il put them in the greenhouse

I’m gonna mix some lemon juice with water and spray to the underside of the leaves as best as possible and see how they do over the next few days. Any ideas of ratios. I’ve been seeing 2/3 ratios but don’t wanna over do it

Get a magnifying glass and hunt them down. It's not bad yet and spraying half-assed bro-science sprays on your buds is going to mess them up and the mites will probably love it.

I use the big one on the top when I go after mites or thrips and can wipe them out without spraying a drop. No way with a room full of plants but under a dozen it's totally doable. Can usually find them at stores that sell office supplies, drug stores included, for 10 - $20. The little higher power lens is handy so look for that type.

As long as you can keep the numbers down to a few here and there it won't hurt your crop or yields and once you've cropped you can do an intensive cleaning of the grow space. Toss out all the dirt and use fresh for the next crop. Bleach everything that will fit in a sink or bathtub. Last time I had mites I left the room empty and 80F for a month while vegging in another room. That way any eggs will hatch and the babies will starve without plants to feed on. If the room is cold any adults will hibernate and wake up next time it gets warm. Easier than trying to spray down a room like mine but a tent is easy.

Good luck!

Microscopes do wonders. I used a jewelers loupe to find these little shits. Started using IPM from Athena. Just started flower. Hoping I can slow the spread of pests. Pull a few leaves off to check.

I was thinking thrips myself and that is a lot easier to deal with than mites for sure. I've still got a few thrips here and there but don't worry about them much. Plants are still vegging and even when they are there in flower they seem to almost disappear but mites just get worse and worse unless you spray or hunt continuously. Haven't had the pleasure of mites in the grow room for a couple of years now but had them for 2 years before getting serious about wiping them out. Clones from a buddy like so many other stories of woe. :)

After defoliating affected leaves I don’t seem to having a problem anymore. I’ve also been using a fan constantly as I read this would help. Around the 6 week flower mark now here’s some pics 5DACFF9A-F16F-410E-BC50-1D495D964A65.jpeg6721DD29-1800-4C0B-84E3-759E07101453.jpeg

I recently had an issue with thrips at week 5 or 6. I gave the girl a good spraying with Flying Skull Nukem. It only took one application and they were gone. Nukem is citric based, and if you try it don't go crazy when the pistils turn brown, that's normal with this product.
