SpiderMites, flowering - help! How can I treat them?

Ladybugs. they will eat the mites their eggs, maybe anything else you have and you don't know you have.

I don't have instant access to ladybugs unfortunately. I live out in BFE. Can get them by Thursday w/ overnight shipping but there could be alot of damage before then.

Alot of local nurseries carry them, home depot might still have some. Thats how i got mine when I needed em. You always have pesticides as an option but I have no real experience with those.

Trust me, I've been to every nursery in a 50 mile radius and not ever nursery or Home Depot carries ladybugs...like none here right now. especially not when it's over 100 every day. I live where people raise livestock, not plants.

Man, I'd be thinkin' male/hermie if that was in my garden? That 3rd pics pretty weird. I've never seen bracts/sacs that swollen w/pistils . . . but that don't mean it don't happen.
I think I've read of folks vigorously spraying water on spider mites to knock 'em off their plant(s). Might slow 'em down?

Well, that wouldn't be a bad thing to try - blast them off. It used to work on a bad whitefly problem I had in CA once upon a time.
It doesn't look that weird upclose - it just looks odd w/ the discoloration that's come w/ the spidermites. They are IN the pistils. It is horrible.

Here you go. I have used this for white fly infestation and it works. Follow directions. It's supposed to work for spider mites too.
Mite, bugs, powdery mildew.
1/4 cup Baking Soda
1/2 cup Apple Cider vinegar
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
2 drops dish detergent
1/4 Teaspoon Epsom Salts
Take a cup of very hot water and dissolve the epsom salts, take rest of ingredients and place in a clean 2 liter bottle and let work out. Add epsom solution. Add water to fill to 48ozs(3/4 full).Shake well.
btw, after that, clean every single nook and cranny of that room. there may be more.
TO USE: Cover soil/medium with plastic,with lights off mist plant all over,especialy under leaves,
Wait 20 mins,then spritz off with clean fresh water shaking as much water off plant as you can.
The fresh water spritz rinse will remove the solution along with the desolved remains of the mites and their eggs.
Have fun with your new "Mite Eradicator"
Water plants 1/2 hour before spraying. This will help keep your plants from absorbing the spray.
btw, after that, clean every single nook and cranny of that room. there may be more.

im in the same boat as u m8, im using a homemade nicotiene(sp) spray. i bought some rolling tobacco, american spirit i think. and im letting it soak overnight in a disposable cup full of water. strain and boil to prevent tmv(tobacco mozaic virus) and add a cuople drps of dish soap and give those lovely ladies a bath!

Well I used the mix recipe and we sprayed them all up and down last night once it cooled off. They look no worse for the wear today except for some crispyness on some of the tiny leaves and the pistils. I think they will be just fine...will update in a few days after I see if those bastards are held off....for now.

The safest bet is to unleash ladybugs. And placing tanglefoot on the main stem towards the bottom. You can still spray into the flowering state for pest treatment just never spray into the last three weeks of harvest or your finished product will taste and smell like the spray you used. One of my friends were concerned about slight bud mold and decided to use a mold/mildew spray when it was the last two weeks prior to harvest. The finished product smelt like garlic. GoodI have spidermites on two female plants (Mamie and Millie) I'm almost 1 month in to flowering and have to control them NOW.
Is there anything that I can do that won't make my girls nasty to smoke...if they live?
