Spokane group wants marijuana enforcement relaxed
A Spokane group is trying to ease marijuana enforcement in the city.

SPOKANE, Wash. A Spokane group is trying to ease marijuana enforcement in the city.
Citizens for a Sensible Spokane plans to go before the city council on Monday seeking approval of a ballot initiative to make marijuana offenses the lowest priority of the Spokane Police Department.
Seattle has a similar law.
Ian Moody, a spokesman for the Spokane organization, says the goal isn't to make marijuana legal, but to make it easier for medical marijuana dispensaries to operate without police interference.
City Council President Joe Shogan says that if the council takes any action on Monday, it would likely be to allow the group to begin collecting signatures to have the measure placed on the ballot.
