What do you folks do to protect/service your rooms when spring rolls around?

This year, I'll be........

-removing the 2 "Burning Bushes" I have out by the pool (Root aphid harborers)

-Applying a fresh barrier foundation guard. Lots of critters can come in on ants

-When I spray the foundation, I'll also replace any vent screens I use and apply some juice all over those too.

-Light app of Neem in the veg room once a week from April on. (You have to go thru veg room to get to flower room) The few times I've had spidermites, they have been on a few low leaves, in the veg room, where they are promptly noticed and treated. They've never made it into flowering room, knock on wood.

-No longer accepting or requesting genetics from fellow growers, seed or in house clone only

-Bulb change and hood lens cleaning. I'll also pull down all the ducting while the hoods are apart and give them a shake out for bugs and debris

-carbon filter cartridge change

-clean mini split filters

2 weeks from now is my 5 1/2 ton ac install. Wtf 6k later :( last week had 1 bulb and 2 ballasts go bad. Just yesterday a 3rd ballast go bad thats less than 8 weeks old. So needless to say getting several ballasts new to sit around just in case and no more used bought parts lol.

Nice investment on the 5k. Sounds like you're having a surge issue man,...3 ballasts in a week is too many to be coincidence unless they were all 5-6 yr old chinese crap that was reaching its expiration date. I would get a pro in there with the meters before investing in a pallet of ballasts.

BTW, can u swing to cumberland today? Got cmantis' messages, been crazy here, sick kid n all. If u can swing to cumberland this aft, I can give u some beans

Lbh- if that was ment to me then just pm me... also, yeah i have 6 ballasts wired to a 220v line done by an electrician but it has me nervous cause on one line. Also its on a switchbox for 2 rooms so ballasts always on.

Rick, Have u looked at the MLC's from CAP? Cuts the amperage in 1/2. I'm running 8x1000's thru an mlc-8 on a single 50a breaker

Yes, but it's not a surge protector. It cuts your draw in 1/2 though!!

They also make an mlc-4

Why would u run ballasts all day? MH for veg?

8 lights per room... switch box so 8 lights on in one room and after 12 hrs the second room hasr 8 lights on. 8 ballast, 16 lights

When the seasonal garden section opens, I'll be there. Need to trade my cardboard plant platforms for something sturdy and water resistant! Can't find anything like that during the winter.

I really need milk crates because they work best for air circulation and you can stack em. But where can you get em without ripping off the milkman?

1.Changing two 1000 watt bulbs in flower

2.Clean filter on dehumidifier, vacuum, re-paint

3.Had a small case of thrips (veg), treated with Whitney Farms insecticidal soap one treatment so far so good. Taking a page from LBH to treat rooms with neem.

For guaranteed thrip removal, use anything with Spinosad in it like Capt jacks deadbug brew, etc. GONE, instantly
