Anything to do about a seedling that has Broken Ground but doesnt seem to be growing?
So a seed just sitting above the dirt is allright?its probably rooting..it happened to me a while ago.patience.
probably. you got a pic?So a seed just sitting above the dirt is allright?
yeah when you say seedling i imagine cotyledons and first set of leaves...is that correct?
Should I cover with a Little dirt?this could happen if you didnt bury it deep enough...id say give it some more time and im sure the seed will crack off..
i have had to do this before too. once the seed breaks the surface it will dry out and sometimes it just basically strangles the sprout. id suggest delicately putting a lil dirt hill over it and keeping it moist with a spray bottle as often as you can. or if you have steady hands you can crack the seed head off of the sprout but this can be dangerous. i notice this happens with mostly older seeds most of the time. its a good idea to store your seeds with some herb to keep them fresher. its also not a bad idea if you get seeds from somewhere to let them sit in a container with some herb for a weak or two to suck up those oils.I have had to remove the shell a few times. that seems to speed things up.
Ya me too pop that helmet off and spread those first embryo leaves too a bit.. helps to get it going. Always did this when you take your time and care the plants don't mind.I have had to remove the shell a few times. that seems to speed things up.
