Standalone AC units need a little guidance please

well let me just tell you about my setup that is being built now its a 12x12x6.5 outdoor shed completely sealed pack to the brim full of insulation 4 1000watts will this ac unit work out for this job it has everything Dehumidifier ,AC , and Heater ..I also have a co2 burner but not one that has a pilot Lite all the time its an electric start ...If im going in the wrong derection on this please point me in the right one

This is one of those times when you dont want to skimp out. Same with buying inline fans, it's better to have the power on tap than to not have enough and start all over again. Something that might help is the temperature in your area? If it only gets to about 85 during the summer, that unit will work fine. If it gets over 100 it will struggle, even with the insulation.

I don't know.....because I use a 5500 btu window a/c.....in a 12x8x7 area...in a shed with very little insulation.....and it gets past 100 all summer long....and my room never gets above 80........and johnnyblaze try this link.... it works and what other things do you have to take into account??? http://www.csgnetwork.com/acroomsizecalc.html

ah thanks man now can i ask you this what are u runnin in that 12x8x7 Is the shed in direct contact with the Sun and if it is for how many hours out of the day?how many watts of lights ? How many fans if its not sealed ?Do you use any co2 and if so is it a electric burner or pilot light? any dehumidifiers or humidifiers If to dry?

I have 1 1000 watt 1 400 watt 1 270 cfm can fan 1 170 cfm eco fan 1 5500 btu a/c 1 led side panel for my 12x8x7 flowering room....my shed is kinda big itself I only use part of it for my flowering room and on the other side of the flowering room i have 2 tents for vegging/cloning/mothers which I vent air from the flowering room in intervals to keep the tents cool too........and the shed is pretty much all day in the sun.....I do supplement Co2 since I dont vent any air from outside in the room...but I use 20 lbs tanks.......and I dont use a humidifier I like to keep my flowering room kinda dry.... the a/c is dehumidifier ....oh and I live in a very hot area....100+ all summer long...even the nights are hot.......I run my lights at night 2...it helps a lot...

Good info man; I also live in a hot area (100+ during the summer about 90 at night :(). I had a 7000btu portable for my garage and it really didnt help much, so I had to get a 15000btu and that worked out really well; just wished I would have done a bit more research before I purchased :)

Thats why i posted this thread cause this shed grow is already roaming between 4000-5000 thousand ..I dont wanna have to buy twice i just want to but 1 time and thats it ...so i would hope that a 14000 Btu Ac/ dehumidifier/Heaterwill do the trick ...Im going to hold off on this as this will be the last thing i buy ..Just want to get more feed back on this subject with 4K watts of lights and a electric burner ...If anyone knows someone on Rollitup that uses a shed grow with this type of set up please let me know ..so i can go read their post or thread

what about this one guys any thoughts plz plz....wait a minute will these even work !! If they have an exhaust port is that stupid thing ganna suck out all my co2 ..from what i read i think you need it cause thats how it disposes of the water it sucks into the dehumidifer....I would like all opinions on this subject plz help ..read about the UNIT before making false statments please:wall: or someone point me in the right damn direction

Johnny, HID lighting is going to throw out about 3.4 BTU per watt, you intend to run 4,000 watts that's 13,600. The unit is rated at 14K, in other words, it's a push. Whatever temps are in there now, that is what they will be with the lights and A/C running give or take a few deg.

I need and ac unit that doesnt break my arms and legs in price wise but doesnt exhaust air out ...that can candle 4 k of lights and a 4-6 burner co2 system

Then get a window a/c.......most dont vent air outside...I know mine doesn't....some have a vent you can open and close......get one that doesn't.....hey I didnt see you mention if you were gonna use air cool hoods or cool tubes...are you?????

i run a sealed 8x8 shed, 15K air con with 2K hps, and 1600W MH-

the hottest day so far was 93, and the room was 93. i use co2 so no worries. on a 85 degree day i can keep it in the upper 70's. my ballasts are in the room.
