Starting my own dispensary?

So I've always wanted to grow legally, and I want to be a caregiver for people who need it, as well as myself. I want to open up a dispensary and start my own business in Cali., but I live in texas. I want to move there, and really I want to know, how should I go about doing this? I know that you have to have a license to grow as well as distribute, but what I want to know is how will I start in Cali. financially with all the money problem that the state has? Those are my two main concerns. I just recently turned 18 yesterday, and I'm trying to plan out what I want to do with my life, and since I have a passion for Marijuana, I'd rather do it legally, because I don't want to be a dealer, nor do I want to spend jailtime here; as you may all know, the laws here in texas are absolutely ridiculous when it comes to Marijuana. I've already been incarcerated for just 3g's of the stuff. Anyways, any advice would be highly appreciated.

No offense, buddy, but I doubt you'll be able to get any financing until you get older. My .02.

You're 18 and have never had a job? That's going to be hard to get a loan. But I have no clue to answer your question. Money.

i would at least wait until prop 19 comes around in november. if it passes, its gonna change the industry a lot

Which, no offense, is probably legitimate. I don't think I know anyone under the age of 21 that could properly maintain a small business.

That won't help the OP he is only 18 Prop 19 is good for anyone older than 21 plus
exactly. if it gets passed, he wouldnt be able to do it. so if he moves down here, and it passes, he cant get into the industry for another 3 years

Yeah my friend says I need to build up credit, so I'm probably going to start working soon.
I got that part down, I just need to know the rest
naw. you just need to grow enough bud. In this economy it doesn't matter how good your credit is, banks aren't loaning to small businesses. What you need is to grow/sell enough bud to where you don't need financing.

Well I think thats going to be a major drawback. I think its for all those people who want to use it for all the wrong reasons, when you have to have at least a stomach ache to smoke or a cough.. of course, more serious things such as cancer patients, I think they should still receive the same level of attention IF the bill does get passed. I think we should all consider how much it may benefit the economy, but it would also hurt the medical side it once strives for since the beginning of all these states getting it legalized for medicinal use. If it were up to me, I think Marijuana should be an all-purpose prescription. Of course mandatory attention be given to the latter as mentioned before. But why wait on one state and just take it medical to the federal level? Damn congress..

You realize that you would make a hell of a lot more money opening a shoe store than selling ounces of pot at $100 right? This just frustrates me because people dont realize the price of weed is dropping rapidly (and this is a GOOD thing for consumers and a bad thing if you are trying to make money off pot). I luckily dont make any money off pot nor do I ever intend to, my goal is to grow my own medicine for myself which I will do no matter what happens with the medical vs legal fight. In the end I beleive whatever puts less Americans in jail or ticket for pot, is the best solution. more important than business or profits.

Instead of selling something that wont make you enough money to live like flowers, why not go sell ice cubes in alaska or sand in hawaii?

I'd also like to mention, that marijuana can still be used as fuel, cloth, industrial materials, and ACTUALLY bring up the price to about 450$/ounce ~ 20,000$/lb and actually I think the market should be directly controlled by the state with mandatory regulations, as well as the respect for all medical patients like I've previously stated. Yes also, if its getting people out of trouble, of course. I mean what better can it get, I mean would you rather go to prison for growing or be able to without anyone bothering you? Sheesh, and you have to remember, its just a plant, like Opium or apples and oranges. So there is also that respect. One thing I can say I've learned from growing Marijuana is to have respect for all herbs that have either consumer or medicinal value.

EDIT: Why not RAISE the price of narcotics (what marijuana was supposed to replace such as Oxy or Percocets), lower insurance rates, then make pot a portion of what you pay out of everything? Just a few ideas...

btw I support the european system of socialism as well as the former communism of the USSR

heres a bad ass credit secret.

have a well to do family member that likes you?
a credit card can be issued in your name on your well to do's relative.
The card never needs to get to your hands, it could be cut up as it arrives.

when the relative pays his CCard on time, you share their credit, as their score is above 750-800 yours will climb rapidly.
this credit follows you.
drawback= the relative might notice a slight drop in their own credit report as their credit merges with your own.
But young guys should have no credit, which is so much better than bad credit.

I have a relative that pays his balances on time, upwards of $15k per month. When I approached him he ran my credit (BAD BAD credit here) he wouldn't go for it.
as my bad credit is much worse than his good credit.

hope this helps.

In case you didn't notice this whole legalization of medical marijuana is just a baby step in the fight for full out legalization. Laws against marijuana are unconstitutional and show just how ignorant humans are. Marijuana should be legal for all and no one should have control over it. It is the most versatile and amazing plant on earth and it's a shame we have demonized it as a society. We must always stand up for our rights and never give in. We are responsible for the welfare of future generations rights as human beings. Overgrow the planet!

Yeah because the government does such a great job at regulating anything!

Exactly, so why are you wanting regulation and think people use it for the wrong reasons?

Because there are people who actually need those medications. Marijuana does a lot but it's not a be all end all of medications. Those medications are already expensive enough and it would be horrible to charge the people who actually need them more money. How would that justify lower insurance rates?

It doesn't matter what kind of government you have if it's corrupt like they all are. All government systems have there pro's and con's but humans are greedy power hungry asshats that won't allow an honest system.

P.S. The USSR worked out so well.

listen here dude voting against prop 19 dummy your still a little boy thats why
I admit this guys thought process is flawed but voting against prop 19 is the right thing to do. It's a horribly written bill but seeing as you can't even make a coherent statement I wouldn't expect you to be able to understand it.
