Stealth Setup?

Appearance isn't something too serious, it could be a tent, or I could grab some furniture and do a little project?

That is an AMAZING job! If you don't mind me asking, how much can you pull of those two girls in those conditions with that closet? Also how long are you veg'ing?

It's a new box, doing my first grow in it now:lol:

I'm going to finish filling out the scrog and switch over to 12/12, and then see how much it produces. It's doing fantastic right now :bigjoint:
 
that tent is pretty small for a 600w --->1.5x4x4. your likely to run into height issues- figure a foot each for the pots and the cooltube, and at least 16" for light spacing. that leaves about 8" to grow plants in.

as far as it meeting your needs... what are your needs?

I can go through a couple grams on a bad day, from very good quality medicine. Maybe 3oz a month, give or take 1/2oz. I'd be happy to get enough for 2oz a months and then I would have to purchase whatever else, but it helps me a lot budget wise.

What would you suggest? I'm pretty constrained on space, but not yet decided what "tent/box/item" to use as my "room". I already have the 600w cool tube hood, which runs extremely cool, I mean I can pretty much touch the glass and it will just be slightly warm. So that's pretty much what I got to work with, oh and the fan controller, 8"fan/filter.
 
Wait, which size tent were you looking at? I didn't realize the post saying 1.5 x 4 was someone else.

If you're handy you can build a box with 2x4 and panda film. I have a friend that does that.

If possible I'd set up a mother/clone/ veg box rather than starting from seed each time. It'll shave some time off of each grow.

I'd like to keep it extremely simple and stealth to begin with. I was thinking either a 1.5'x3'x4' or a 2'x4'x4' Tent, since they are easy to use. Otherwise maybe a stealth cabinet around 1-2ft deep (or just enough space for the 600w reflector), wide enough for 2or3 girls and a carbon filterandfan.
 
I don't know what people are pulling from cabs that size.

If you run an 8 week flower strain you need to yield 4 ounces just to cover flower time. Plus 2 ounces a month for how ever long it takes to grow to that size from seed.

Are you going to buy femenized seed?

I have my own non-fem, but I will probably want fem for huge time saving purposes. If I run a 1month veg/2month flower cycle, let's say I can currently average 40-60grams/girl... that would make about 4.5oz for 3 months. The second they are done, the next cycle begins and I have 4.5oz for the next 3 months, maybe I will have to buy an extra oz or two, but it sure beats buying 10 over the year.
 
Definitely. I'd say fem seeds would be the way to go. You'd take a big hit in yield if even a single plant turns out male after vegging for a month
 
Yeah those air pumps are noisy beasts. Depending on what kind of money you have, you can spend more on a linear piston air pump. They are not as loud.

You can use a water pump to create a waterfall effect. Display a small waterfall statue or aquarium in the room to disguise the noise.

There was a guy on the old overgrow forum, and then on the icmag forum that used wave maker water pumps to aerate his dwc. Biggest problem with that is keeping the roots from tangling up the propeller.

Most of the gas exchage comes from the surface of the water as it's the largest surface area. The more agitated the surface is, the better the gas exchange.

I tried to do some hydro here, but in my small cab and with my overall high heat, it was a bad idea. I couldn't keep the water cool enough, plus light leaks got algae. Pulling the water out of my system to dispose of for nute changes was a pain in the ass. So I got two tubs that stack into each other. Filled the bottom one with perlite and the top one had holes in the bottom and was filled with coco. That way I'd give it a good watering, the excess would flow down into the perlite and would wick back up when the coco started to dry out. The roots eventually grew down into the perlite but didn't seem to hurt the plants any. Not sure how much nutrients ended up staying in the perlite though.
 
I was thinking a soil or hemp style, maybe like 3 girls, umm a closet big enough for a 600w cool tube and the filter and fan. Would this be sufficient?
