Stoner paranoia?

I have a 400w HPS set up. With a helicopter doing sweep of the area I believe. Hovered over my house and then moved on. I'm pretty baked right now. Should I be wworried?

My 400w is in a closet and just vents openly into my bedroom and window opens nd bedroom door open for air flow.

Could this be seen from above? My thoughts are no but I'm just wondering....

idk but ive herd that they can only see heat from 1000w lights but idk

if you live in the us, i've heard that they need a warrant to use infra-red on a house like that.. i think that heli's are the least of indoor growers worries tbh... much more important shit to worry about then some heli flying over your crib imo..

UK grower man. They do flyovers without permission a lot! I keep my mouth shut about my activities so that's one thing down.

ahh, uk grower, yah, i've heard of them busting people that way over there sorry to say.. but saying that, a 400 watter isn't much to worry about in the ways of a heat foot print... not really putting out all that much heat compared to a 1k watter..

I've always got a 600 and 400 going and iv Neva had a problem and the helicopter is always out by me

a hot shower will probably throw more heat off than a 400w bulb. I think you'll be fine

Ive ran 5x 600w, not even in a tent, just in a room. Your mouth is the main reason people get caught or an ex's mouth. Never your heat sig unless they already know and they are cementing their case

Question though - buying a 0.8x0.8x1.8m tent. What size fan and filter kit would I need to cool a 400w in there? Hydro store guy said rent too small for a 400w :/

LOL NO don't worry man... I'm a UK grower myself AND am in a copper chopper flight path usually they have the FLIR and all... seems like they're flying over every few hours it's ridiculous lol

For 1 they need more than just FLIR, most busts happen because they have other evidence to go on and intent etc.
For 2 FLIR can only detect surface temperature so unless your light is aimed at the wall making 1 spot really hot you'll be fine.
For 3 Any heat leaving your window will mostly be around regular room temperature as it has mixed in with your ambient room temp so long as your not pumping out 20-30+ degree air from your windows and there's no condensation on the windows your fine again

To cool your tent I would recommend a RUCK 125A (link: http://www.greenshorticulture.co.uk/categories/Growroom-Products/Fans-&-Fan-Filter-Deals/Budget-Fan-&-Filter-Packages/?setCurrencyId=1), it says suitable for 800w but I have the step down and it just about cools a 250w HPS (definately worth checking out greens horticulture) they're brilliant for UK delivery, usually next day if you order before 2pm and very reasonably priced!

You should be a little worried - a friend of mine had the same thing about a year ago, chopper hovered over his gaff; this was when we had all that heavy snow, so his grow probably stood out like a sore thumb and 24hours later he was busted at 6am.. got nicked with 10 plants but got a fine & 240 hours community service (his grow was in his loft in a grow area that he had knocked up with 2 x 4's & insulation board)

10 plants. Must been a lot wattage lights. Mine in a bedroom cupboard just heat coming into rroom not loft.

Yeah he had 2 x 600W HPS - I have a 400W HPS in a grow tent (not in loft) and have been fine for 5 years *curse initiated*

400 watts is about the same as a main room with 4 80 watt bulbs going at the same time. Shouldn't be a problem. I suggest you make sure any smell is more watched then the flir lighting unless you go big with multi 1000 watters....then flir heat could be an issue. Keep a check on who knows about the garden is the main reason to be paranoid.

What fan u got! What size tent and how many plants?

they would have needed more than just the FLIR as a legal fact, they can't go just on FLIR as a 'dodgy' heat signature could be sooo many factors, poor insulation (especially in the winter), they need that and say a narc or found some crap in his bins (which they would have needed a warrant for anyway) so either way he was most likely fucked by a combination of factors... If you are a careful grower, don't go blabbing etc you'll be alright

and by the way Cannabis cultivation (since the 27th Feb 2012) has been decriminalized in the UK, basically if you have no more than 9 plants OR 10 oz you CAN'T go to prison anymore, you'll only get an official warning a fine and maybe some community service. One tiny step towards legalization...

I have a 1.2 x 1.2 x 2m Tent with a RUK Inline fan for extraction & 3 plants in there at the mo

What size fan? And if tent smaller surely smaller fan will suffice?

Yeah I agree, it could well have been a snout, he had only lived in the property for 3 months then was raided.. the chopper obviously was acting on intelligence.
Yes I read about the laws but aren't they only guidelines for judges & the prosecution? - they don't necessarily have to be enforced?
