Storing flower in nitrogen gas to preserve smell

I was wondering if storing your flower in nitrogen gas would keep the aroma intact for long periods of time?

Something tells me that evaporation is the main enemy not oxidation.

Has anyone tried this and how did it work? Also any other ideas for keeping the smell for longer term storage say 6 to 12 months?

Vacuum? Like wine savers that vacuum air out of bottles.
Would a vacuum increase evaporation of the terpenes? I know that under a full vacuum THC boils off at a pretty low temperature. I know thats why the pros don't go quite all the way to a full vacuum when purging BHO. That might mean when we open the jar or can that all the aroma escapes and is then gone. Basically pulled out of the weed even faster by the vacuum. One would think that storage under high pressure nitrogen would prevent oxidation and slow evaporation.

Doubt you’d get close to a full vacuum, but people store in vacuum bags for long periods but they crush the bud. Nitrogen sounds interesting. Just give it a try. Heavier than air?

But I mean storing it under pressure not a vacuum. A vacuum in a jar wouldn't crush anything but I fear it would speed up terpene evaporation. So you open the jar and all the smell escapes leaving product with little terpene content left. But storing in nitrogen gas under pressure of say 3 or 4 bar (soda bottle pressures) would slow the evaporation.

Thats my hypothesis anyways... lol

Yeah I have seen the nitrogen at atmospheric pressure and it definitely stops oxidation, I wonder if putting it at pressure like 3 or 4 bars would improve storage even more.

I understood, I was just thinking of all the people who vacuum seal bags then freeze, if you did the same thing with jars. But I like your idea better

Terpenes are minor, like 3%. Heres what I do. Grow dank weed (low terpene, high linolenic acid). Wait for dank weed to cure itself (starches into fatty acids, fatty acids into thiols etc, heath oxygen and enzymes = curing) Only sell weed to people without an Internet connection. Those people still like dank weed, not laughable perfume weed.
