Hi, i am a big time noob grower, the only thing i have done is read a bunch of on-line guides and FAQs.

Here is by buddy's and I's set up. i've got four little sprouts all about two days old. Im using florescent lights. Right now im keeping the lights on 24 hours a day and i check the plant every few hour to make sure the soil is most. I give it a little bit of water maybe once or twice a day.

My plan is once these get big enough transplant outdoors. I was hoping someone might be able to take a look at my set-up and tell me if anything is wrong. I am trying to keep these plants small too, like under three feet if possible.

Those plants are babies, the don't need to be in water constantly now that is why they came out of the shell. Now you want your roots to grow, looking for water and if they can't BREATH BECAUSE YOU ARE DROWING THEM, they won't grow, they will die. Pick up the pot and feel the weight. Now, don't water that plant until you think that pot is light, and the plant is just starting to droop a little. Using a moisture meter helps, I got mine at Wallyworld less than $4.00. Those look like 1 gallon or larger pots. Its going to be a while before you see much above ground growth from those plants, they will spend most of thier energy growing a root system to fill the pot, if the don't drown. Plan of repotting to a 3-3 1/2galllon pot a week or so after you see significant above ground growth. This will be your signal that the roots are pretty developed, let it get a little above ground growth before making the roots grow more, balance is what you are looking for.

That shouldn't be a problem with what you have here, if your going to plant it outside around memorial day. You will need more light if you plan on getting 4 or five of them to that height now. If you mean finish height don't use any more lights. A 1' tall vegging plant would finish indoors at close to 3', out doors with the longer growing season....... you have time to check out LST (LOwStressTraining) I think fdd may have some things about this in his threads.
You should have an oscillating fan gently blowing the air around your plants, maybe you do and i didn't look close enough, typical old man, just ignore it. Thanx for the pictures, we like pictures, we try to help people that put up pictures, hope we did. VV:blsmoke:
