I find that indicas result in a better smoke in hydroponics than sativa, but maybe its just me. I like hydro, if you want good yields and you are working to work a little bit harder to get that sweet nice taste. Everyone will tell you something different and everyone probably thinks they're the most right lol. But anyhow i make sure i have 600w shining per sq meter with fan controllers of intake and outake make sure your outake is 300m3 per every 600w of light you have and you will have very little heat problems plus a good oscilating fan blowing over the canopy and below every reflefctor in the room, set your temperature for 25C and make sure it does not fall below 20C at 'night' (or if you are growing indicas that might turn colourfull at the end of flowering make sure to get the 10C drop for the last 7-10 days). I trully believe that from my experience all the hype about feeding this that and the other and blah blah blah will never be as important as keeping OUTSTANDING enviromental contidions. Once you have created an aritificially stable environment where cannabis can prosper most well know feeding solutions and their schedules just be carefull with overfeeding... I recommend foliar feeding and swear by it to death Use everything and anything you can as long as its organic in your foliar solutions in small amounts and dont let it sit for longer than a day or 2 and spray until buds are about half an inch in size and i always give my plants a final shower just to clean up a bit. I find foliar feeding greatly helps with the plants general health and i find that provides a tastier end product. I love dwc and it can work wonders but i find the water needs to be changed every week for the best results. Use any base nutrient you might like for flowering plus supplements of humic and fulvic acids, carbohydrates, a blooming enhancer, enzymes and or something to keep your roots health's in order, vitamins and minerals, and some kind of end of flower booster. I find that giving the plants two random 1 day flushes at specific times seriously helps with packing buds, one just around the 3 water change of flower once the plant has formed most of its initialy bud sites and starts 'consolidating' them so to say by adding a wee weight on them however if you flush for a day they feel starved and will have a banquet once their roots get impregnated with the good stuff and respond by increasing in size, plus another flush closer to the end of flowering once i see the plant is beggining to pack weight on the buds just before i decide to add in a phosphurus and potassium supplement i might even make this flush go for 2 days and then i get in shock how the buds swell. i've had buds double in size in a mattter of a few days. Flush for at least! 10 days if you cant go the full 14 and change the water at least! 3 times during your fluishing period, if you want use final phase or some kind of flushing solution i find just changing the water 5 times during the flushing period does the trick. I forgot i find indicas like the ph of the water at about 5.7-5.8.
I can assure you that if you grow any good indica or mostly indica cross from any seed bank with good reputation and you do the above you will have some absolutely ridiculous buds in your hands. I find the hardest part of growing is getting aaaaaaaaaall the shit you need at the start. If you get everything you need spend a lot of money to make sure you have it all and good quality it will be very easy to look after it. Again i repeat temperature and fresh air are key and obviously humidity but that easier and cheaper to keep in check as no big structural or equipment planning is needed. And keep things clean, i vacuum and desinfect after every look after and use a full body painters suit and mask just to help me remember to keep things clean because i'm a seriously messy stoner like many of you i find that helps feeling neat and its fun to suit up with a clean suit mask and sun glasses before 'going in'.
Have fun
