Strange white specks on my bud

Hey Dudes,

First ever post here... hopefully someone can help the new guy out.

My buddies and I just bought a bunch of bud and we are finding these weird little white dots or specks that are just kind of sitting all around the surface of the weed.

if you pick the specks off and crush them up they are kind of powdery almost

the bud itself is still a bit wet as it was recently harvested, but other than the white bits it seems normal

any idea what the white stuff is?

peektures would help. from all i can tell it could be anything from weird deposits on the plant to spider mites (doubt it). hell it could even be trichomes for all i know. show closeups of bud pleeease

unfortunately I didnt think of asking on here until i left my buddy's house, and he has the weed so I cant get a picture. I was just hoping maybe someone would recognize this because I searched around on the boards a lot before posting this and a lot of people ask about white spots on the leaves themselves and things like that, but I never found anything that was similar to my problem

This bud is like already harvested and bagged like any other bud you would buy, but its a little wetter than normal and these white spots arent on the leaves themselves. They are like seperate little deposits of some white powdery stuff that is like sticking to the surface of the weed.

So I would guess you are sort of on track with the 'weird deposits' idea. I dont think it could be mold just because of how powdery it is when you break it up, and its in these perfectly round little specks all over.

Sounds like it could possibly be the start of mould.

So if we were to pick all these little white specks off manually would it be all good or what (assuming its mould)

White chunks, kinda like drywall, you crush them and they feel powdery??


Dude dont worry, its not mold, and its not crack. Its just the stuff thats inside the stalk of marijuana plants dried out. With some strains it gets everywhere when clipping.

Just look at the white shit inside a fat dried out stem, its the same stuff.


No need to worry bro. Its harmless.

No doubt it's white powdery mildew. This guy who said it's something from inside the stem is a comPlete idiot
