Well now it's time for me to start germinating my seeds from Attitude Seedbank. I fucking love those guys for their decent prices (compared to other seed shops) and they actually paid me over 60 bucks... You can find that BY CLICKING HERE

My methods are probably OCD, I am a germophobe so bear with me...

TOOLS:
gloves
70% rubbing alcohol
organic, non-dyed paper towels
spray bottle with distilled water
gallon ziploc bags
sharpie
seeds :clap:

METHOD:
sanitize table with alcohol
put gloves on and sanitize
lay out paper towels as work surface
label, sanitize and dry baggies
spray paper towels about 10 times with distilled water
place seeds on towels
spray 3 times
fold over paper towels and spray again
place in ziploc bag, pushing all the air out but not sealing
place all sealed bags in top shelf of closet and check every 12 hours - spraying each time
sanitize everything in between strains (told you I'm OCD)

I started by germinating the 3 FREE Regular TGA Subcool Jack The Ripper seeds...

Didn't take pics of all of the seeds, why bother... But I am germing the following...

3 (Reg) TGA Subcool The 3rd Dimension (FREE SEEDS)
1 (Reg) Dinafem Sweet Deep Grapefruit (FREE SEED)
1 (Reg) Dinafem Cloud 9 (FREE SEED)

That's all for germination, the temp in the closet stayed low to mid 70's. And I will check back soon.

Now that I have the seeds in the closet, it's time to do some soil mixing. This one is a no brainer...



1 - 6 Quart bag of perlite




1 big bag - FF Happy Frog




1 big bag - FF Ocean Forest




Before mixing, I poked 3 holes in the bottom of 11 clear party cups (I know 2 are missing from the pic - not sure why maybe :joint: has something to do with it :mrgreen:, sanitized them and added plain Happy Frog because the Ocean Forest can burn young plants occasionally...




Mix it all together (courtesy a friend who doesn't have a degenerative spinal disease :)




I use a clear cup so I can check for healthy roots. I tossed a small, clean, flat rock in each red party cup then put the clear one in. The red cup protects the roots from light and the rock separates them just enough to let the water drain. See, I only poked holes in the clear cups, the water drains to the red cup and I toss it. If only the fucking seeds would germinate. It's only been an hour at this point :) Be back with germinated seed pics (hopefully).

It's been 36 hours since I put the seeds to germinate and here are my results.

Time to plant...

I made a small hole in each cup with the Happy Frog soil, dropped each seed in carefully and gently backfilled until barely covered with soil - making sure each taproot was pointing downwards as much as possible without roughing shit up.




After the seeds were planted in soil, I misted them with plain distilled water. I gave each plant 25 sprays or water and would let them sit long enough to have a cig or smoke a bowl. I would say each cup got sprayed 300 times. Took about 1/2 gallon of distilled waster for 11 plants (roughly). Had about 2 - 3 TBSP runoff water in each cup (flushed it).




I know one of the 3rd Dimension seeds didn't look like it popped, I promise it did, the seed shed from the taproot and I planted it before taking the pic, sorry. So all 11 seeds did very well, fuck so much to the point the roots just started to grow into the paper towel a bit. This is going to be an outdoor grow.

Basically, I took this...


And drilled some holes in the storage container for ventilation, cleaned it and pulled the lamp cords through the top and used a ceiling hook to hold the lamps in. Put the fan on the floor on low and added the ladies. I didn't get pics of the construction, but in the grow pics, you will easily see what I did. It's all about the grow from here on out!

Last night (Sun 4/25/2010), I put the seeds in the soil and watered them about 11pm, took my time so it took like 3 hours. I set them in the grow room in the dark and scheduled the lights to come on and off exactly with sunrise and set. Figured if I did that, it would be less shock come time to move them outside.

So, how are my ladies doing? It's about 4:30 in the afternoon on the West Coast and th lights have been on for about 11 hours. Let's take a look at how my ladies are doing...

Congrats! I only hear good things about Jtr. Hopefully they will all be female :weed: Good luck with the grow im definitely along for the ride

Quick update (no pics) right after the lights shut off, my g/f checked the ladies and I apparently have 5 sprouts popping up :hump: She said one is white, not green. Is that typical? Never had it happen.

Until the roots are nice and healthy but not restricted by the cups. I was thinking 1 1/2 weeks to a month. These are new strains for me but as you can see by my next update (the one I am writing after this post), They are doing phenomenal.

i am wondering the same thing.. i have the same freebies from earlier this year.. i didn't know that it was beyond their normal offer to get those 6 at that point, it was a lucky first order.. mine are 6" seedlings now in 1 gallons and i am watching the california weather to see when they go out.. i use FF Ocean Forest too..
i like your scientific germ method.. i just try not to touch them with my fingers and i got 6 of 6 sprouted in water..
attitude is wonderful! i have been wishing i could order seeds you know since forever - but, attitude was the first bank to get me in gear and make an attempt.. i have done four orders now - once they forgot my 5 UFOs, but i don't care enough to make them send again.. if pot is legal here next year then i may well sign up as an affiliate too.. :)

let's compare results on the TGAs in october..! :leaf::leaf:

It's looking like I may have to take a trip to the ER. My last 2 visits landed me in the hospital for over a month total, 4 surgeries that could have went much better - in fact, the last surgery ws in August and I am just to the point where my AMAZING g/f doesn't have to pull me out of bed every morning and wake up hearing me trying to muffle the sounds of being in pain. One day, I swear she is going to walk out on me and get a 'normal' b/f. Oh well, we passed Dr assisted suicide (I'm kiding) :lol: Good thing is, the 2nd hospital (the one that's like 3 blocks from me) let me vape :) no bullshit. Glad I have a g/f who can look after the babies, problem is she is not a grower or even a smoker - just very accepting. She watched her mother die of MS, she was an unofficial patient and her dad is a retired vet who is a 'card-carrying' patient.

What are you using for nutes? I'm thinking Dyna-Gro and a fish emulsion/kelp fert for foliar fedings and may try my buddy's Snow Storm Ultra. Also what strains are you growing? Glad to have you along for the ride, but why the hell does October have to be so far away? Here is a good link for sunrise and set times you can look at each day and gauge when you want them to go outside. I chose a random place in Cali, but you can change it. That's why my lights are timed to the sun rise and set times. Glad you like the sterile environment. Before I became disabled, I was headed for med school to be a surgeon. I'm a very cleanly person and quite the perfectionist. Hell, I'm still 'stressing' over the 3 free seedlings that haven't popped up yet and it's only been 1 full day of light and about 8 hours today.

The ladies are doing amazing as far as I can tell and I even found out why the last one hadn't poked it's pretty green head out of the soil yet, but we'll get into that later, for now - pics.

Turns out the reason the JTR didn't sprout up sooner is because I think I buried it a tad too deep. Last to sprout and the only one that looks like this underneath:




I've been giving them 2-3 sprays of distilled water every day to promote humidity (that's 2-3 sprays to cover all the plants, not each), but today I felt the soil and it is moist under the top layer (typical) but crusty on top so they each had like 4 sprays each. I am damn pleased with my babies progress :joint: and look forward to keeping everyone posted on my luck haha.

Also, if you have any questions or comments or suggestions feel free to post in my journal as long as you aren't a dickhead and show me the courtesy of reading how I got where I am and not asking something I covered already. I followed SICC's party cup grow and no shit must have been 35 people asking what strains he had going, that must get annoying. Glad to have everyone along for the ride so sit down, smoke a bowl and grab some Cheetos because growing marijuana is a time consuming task. BUT SO WORTH IT :weed: :weed: :weed:

Nice, neat operation mrgreenlungz. I'll be following your grow with a bit of interest because I'm thinking about planting my one (1) fem Kandy Kush. I'm mostly into autos, but when I got involved in growing last year I purchased several non-autos from Attitude - one of which was the Kandy Kush. I'm hoping with a combo of topping and LST'ing I may have a chance of keeping it under 4 feet.

I topped and LST'ed the fawk out of a kandy kush - about 24" on 12/12 about 5 weeks old, hope it is fem, just axed a male mango x afghan :(
