stupid lies your DARE counselor told you about pot (and other drugs)

i was told that pot is actually a mild form of acid, that it gives you lung cancer, that its the ultimate gateway drug (try it and in a week youl be smoking crizzack)
-ecstasy puts holes in your brian
-acid gets stored in your spinal fluid so everytime you crack your back you have a trip (haha i wish)
-shrooms actually make your brain bleed, that why you trip off them
-heroin keeps oxygen from getting to your brain, thats why it gets you high


then i went on erowid and found out that ive been lied to this whole time :bigjoint:

I went to HS in the early 80's, ours was more like

"I knew someone who smoked that wacky weed and THEY DIED".

Funny thing was, we used to smoke it in the school bathroom !

oh i almost forgot, one day she told us a story about this one guy who took like 10 tabs of acid and thought he was an orange, he tripped forever and now he just sits in the corner of some distant asylum being an orange

Do they have to juice him? Will cold weather make him go bad? Damn my hand would have been all up in the air asking all kinds of fucked up questions. :lol:

unfortuantely i was pretty new to the drug scene back then, sometimes i think about visiting her and embarassing her in front of a class with questions liek that tho

I would think these days it would be harder to tell those kinds of lies. Kids would be wanting to see video of the orange dude. At least I know I would.

I wonder if he lives in the same place as that blueberry girl from Willy Wonka?

Pot isn't a gateway drug... Doing crack a week after smoking pot for my first time was just a coincidence.

The real gateway is the misinformed. Dare, teachers, govt, etc they all say weed is just like heroin, crack, coke, etc. So, one day a highschool student decides to give weed a try and realizes that its not bad at all. Now, the student has learned that crack, heroin, oxy, etc is just like weed. Harmless. There is the gateway.

luckily never had to deal with DARE, then my parents found out i smoked pot and had to go to Kaiser Counseling, probably even lamer

yeah i think i heard something like that on tv, how he thought he was a glass of orance juice and wouldnt let anyone go near him in fear of being tipped over and spilled !! lol hilarious. cold does make oranges sweeter and tangerines also :)
i think around the time i was told santa wasnt still alive, and all the things we were lied to as a child, i figured that most things i had learned and would learn are mainly one sided :( which is probably why i sticked to math, 1 will always = 1 (without using variables and a combo of math proofs)..
Edited here: RKM thats what i had always thought, when u say its one of the worst, and kids try it and nothing happens, they 'realize' they've been lied to AGAIN ...when in reality, it should be just re-classified...

Being a Dare counselor is just another job. A dare counselor doesn't give a shit, he/she only cares about the paycheck. They'll say anything to keep their job interesting enough to put up with the shitty ass paychecks they get.

I was told pot was a 'gateway drug'... I almost believed it, till I got older and realized it's a Doorway drug. See, you get high and you think of something you want to do, but the only problem is that something is right thru that doorway... By the time you work up enough ambition to get thru that doorway you lose your buzz and forget what you wanted to do... One of the reasons I keep a bong in every room of the house.

ecstasy is MDMA
(3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine) its a hallucinogenic amphetamine, its somehat simmilar to meth (which doesnt put holes in your brain) except it causes alrge releases of serotonin, which is why you get the happy lovey feeling, no brain-holes involved.
LSD does not drain blood from your brain in your spine, if it does, please find some (non government) information about this and send me a link
erowid is a great source of legit drug info
