stupid question

okay I have 12 new clones under some fluoros and I was wondering how tall should i let them go under that light until i transfer to the hps??


is that bad to change them directly over to that much larger of a light??

I plan on letting them veg til they are 18in tall... should I keep them under the fluoros til 12/12 or should I put them under the hps at like 6in and keep them on 24 til the desired height?

well first off. 18 and 24 hour light is used for VEGGING and 12/12 is used for FLOWERING. what i would do is put them bitches under your hps for 18/6 let them get to the height you want them and then set the light to 12/12.

if you put them under the floros for 12/12 they are gonna start to flower and VERY POORLY. fuck the floros. use hps

Yes listen to crickit. The amount of light is VERY important.
Cannabis plants grow without hassle under 24 hours of continuous light. There has been no controlled recordings of increased hermaphroditism or problems-- most growers now use the full 24/0 cycle.

However, 18/6 does have it's advantages:

• Reduced electricity costs. When you have a good mother plant collection and clone cycle, you don't need the increased growth the extra light provides. Lowering the cycle will save money.
• Allows the equipment and room to cool down. Those 6 hours of darkness can be timed to happen during the hottest part of the day, providing some relief for growers in hot climates. This point is debated among growers.

If your clones are rooted, you would want to put them under your HPS now. Keep the light at 18/6 ... and about 2.5 feet above the plants. Gradually move the light closer to the plants as they become aclimated to it. Not to close to burn the plants, however.

Im gonna smoke a bowl too! Just like Vi said, as soon as you see roots. Just leave the lights on for 18 hrs. Let them have some rest and save some money. Your question is kinda hard to understand.
