Subcool Recipe thoughts?

I use the build-a-soil version which is loosely based on sub's recipe, with klackamos changes.
It works very well. Don't know if its the way I mix it or if its all the kit (they just send you amendments - not peat/compost/perlite/etc), but I have really good success with it.

Moonshine - NON COOK mix .
Layered in container , ready to rock and roll. I added myco and EWC as a MOD to it.
Top Dress same for feeding ... ph 6.5-6.7 .
Simple.

I use his original recipe, which used Pro-mix instead of organic soil...Promix is more consistent, cleaner, and easier for me to get. Been using it for about 5 years now. Recently experimented with recycling it with new amendments. I wound up with powdery mildew and can't help but wonder if there was any correlation. My gut tells me there is. I'm going with fresh mix every time now, and save the old for growing vegetables!

About the only veggie that loves old supersoil are tomatoes. They do great. Other plants will hate it.

I grew some hot peppers in it once. Tasted nasty but damn they made you sweat. Tomatoes were really good tho, and I dont like tomatoes.
OP, theres other mixes that dont have the water solubles. Theres a couple good mentions above

Actually I use it on all my houseplants and they are all thriving(all 2 of them) ...A friend couldn't believe how big the houseplant she gave me was...and i grew tomatoes and cukes in it last year...Remember, this is used SS, so a lot of the nutes have been depleted.

I tried a bunch of plants. Cukes, squash, brussels sprouts, herbs, peppers, etc. Only the tomatoes and the peppers thrived. The others lived, but fruited late and never really produced much.
I'm going to amend that soil this year with fresh peat and manure, and watch them closely. It wasn't terrible, they just didn't thrive.

I don't get the stupid layering shit.
Him and the REV must have held hands or something... Needing P&K "spikes" in bloom - FAH.
I build several bloom soils! Each are tailored to how some strains run... Especially long running vs long running.
Needing slow release N sources for long equatorial sativa's is part of it...
I always keep Age Old organic nutrients around,,, just in case it might need some help late.... Top dressing can take too long.
I do multiple up potting. Once you get to the final pot. Use your set bloom soil - Then 8-10 days of root set in the veg room (5 gallon pot) and into the bloom room she goes.
Their later work is better though.. Still feel like you could use better sourced and balanced amendments for some of what they choose.
