Suggestion on can air placement

I just got a can air 9000 and have the hole cut out for exhaust. Where should I place the carbon scrubber? Vertical, up high? any suggestions?

If you are sucking air through it and exhausting that air then place the filter high in the room so that it removes the hot air.

horizontal as high as you can get it, people use vertical when it provides a strait shot for their fans
