Suggestions for Carbon Filter

I have a 6in inline exhaust fan for my grow cabinet. I'm in week 5. And plants are starting to smell. I need to know what's the best method for making my own carbon filter. I've seen a bunch of DIY ideas on here but which one do most people use. I tried the Zen one but it didn't fit my fan. I'd appreciate any links or vids u guys could give me. I need to do this ASAP. I also have a question space inside my cabinet is limited. So can the filter actually go on the outside part of the fan? I hope so. That will give me a Lot more options.

Go to autozone buy a cold air intake filter, go to pets mart get some ACTIVATED carbon. Pour it into the filter, take some pantyhose and put it on the end so the carbon won't fall out. Or you could buy one for 40-60 bucks.

mr2shim is referring to one of these cold/ram intake air filters, many types/brands on eBay:

Just put a nylon (panty hoe) inside, fill with activated carbon, tie the end of the nylon and then attach to your inline fan with the included clamp, easy peasy, there are many ways to DIY a carbon filter this just seems like one of the best IMO anyway.
