Sunlight redirection?

Has anyone ever tried redirecting sunlight to a more secure indoor location?

I'm imagining using mirrors or highly reflective surfaces to transfer light through a split-level basement window and into a hidden grow area.

Is this at all realistic?

You really would need to watch out for solar convergence or heat spots, it will act like a laser and fry the plants pretty quick but if you want to guinea pig it lol

Might be better off with a tubular skylight system, much stealthier than redirecting sunlight into a basement window.

I think it would work on a South facing basement window.
