Super Cali Haze AutoFlower - Rust Spots on a few Leaves?

I have a Super Cali Haze that is 32 days from seed... She is in FFOF soil and is being scrogged. The squares of the screen are quite small so she was being put under quite a bit of stress when being weaved.. She is no longer being weaved as of today..

with that said, she got her first batch of nutes yesterday which was a 1/4 of recommended dose of Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom w/ solution ph'd to 6.5..

I noticed today that the rust colored spots sort of dried out and got crispy this morning. I'm assuming possibly due to the nutes.

I am using 3 x 42 Watt CFL's that are in a very small grow box... The lights were about 1" from the top of the main cola leaf that is most problematic. I thought it might be light burn so I weaved the main cola again and sort of tied it down to keep it low.. I then moved the lights up another 1" so now lights are 5" from the cola..

Temps are perfect around 76 to 79 lights on. and 65 to 70 lights off.. Humidity is around 45 to 50%..

She is watered with distilled 6.5ph'd water.

I was thinking a Cal/Mag issue due to the distilled water but only very few leaves are showing problems and usually a cal/mag issue shows on newer growth right?

if you have some bone meal, it would help to throw some in with feedings, or get some boric acid ( eye wash ) and foliar spray with that. about 1/2 to 1 teaspoon per. gallon.

I think you are right.. and I think I need to get myself a PH Soil tester.. Maybe my soil PH is below optimal range.. thanks for your assistance, i will keep you guys updated on progress..

i have "never" heard even 1 person "EVER" say that soil PH checkers were worth the money...all have told me even some adds on marijuana sites have said that soil PH testers are big pieces of crap and are not very accurate at all................but this is just hearsay..........i cant say anything about it personally

I can say that you are rite about that. the best way to test your ph is with a digital water ph tester. test your water before using it and test your run off as well then you know what the ph is.

some say ph testers work.. others say they don't..

here's what i did.. i took out a couple tablespoons of soil.. put it in a clean cup with drainage holes.. poored some neutral PH water thru it and let it drain to another clean cup.. I strained the water into the test tube.. it was still cloudy.. i put the drops in and based on the color change, i would be at about a 6.5.. with the already cloudy water tho, i would assume any color would appear darker than it actually is.. so more than likely i'm 6.0 or even lower.. Whether or not this is a boron problem.. i think ph is playing a factor no matter what..

I will be adding 2 tablespoons of crushed lime next watering to help bring the PH up.

i HAD a ph tester, and tested my tap water....7...lucky i guess, but in soil, i dont think it is so much PH being off, or whatever...it is how efficiently the microbes in your soil break down nutrients in the plants useable form...in my experience soil PH in soil isnt as important as some think. feed your soil with some molasses here and there, and the microbes will healthy

Ok.. so i smoked a few bowls and started thinking about ph and heres what i came up with.. let me know if this makes sense.. the way ive been thinking about is like this... its not so much soil ph but the ph of'the moisture in the soil which is what the plant feeds off of.. soil is merely a medium to hold that moisture. The soil can make a significant impact on the ph of the moisture feeding the plant.. especially in my case where im using ffof and i havent added nutes for over a month.. perhaps the natural reduction of nutes in the soil have affected the moisture ph as less nutes are now present throughout the soil..
