super noob needing light and tent recommendations

Hey all, sorry if this is a similar topic to others, just dont have the time to scroll through all the posts and pages.

I'm in the EU, doing an indoor organic soil grow. have 3 seedlings that just broke the surface and are developing nicely under a CFL. have been trying to figure out the best non HID lighting options (basically looking at different LEDs) and am having a hard time deciphering misinformation and hype from quality products.

Have also been seeing the term "COB" lights popping up and am curious what that entails as im not familiar with it at all.

Curious what everyones thoughts are, have read both good and bad reviews here about VIPARSPECTRA lights. looking to use it for veg and flower. these are personal plants, am an avid smoker, so I would like a nice yield but dont have more than 400 to shell out for both the tent and light. would appreciate any and all info!

If your budget for light(s) is only a couple hundred bucks, then the Vipar will be decent enough for now. Plan on upgrading it with a COB unit asap though.

Go to the "Indoor Growing" forum, then the "LED" subforum here on RIU if you want to learn about cobs

another quick question, would i be better off with a stand alone Viparspectra 600W LED system, or a CFL mashup with 6 23 watt 6500k, 5 23w 2700k, and 1 cheapo LED grow light with 660,630,and 460nm outputs? the CFLs would be placed 3 above in a triangle type formation with the LED in the middle(4 total lights directly above) with the remaining 8 lights set in the corners of the tent coming indirectly from the sides. both set ups will cost me right around 230 euros.

As a new grower I would suggest going to CrazyDago's https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzzCZoXYp5JH7QKhWadOQcA channel and subscribing to everyone under the GrowTube panel. The panel does a live show every Friday night at 7pm PST lots of great info! that's plenty of learning for a few months lol

As for tents I like Gorilla Grow tents higher quality material if you have the $ and strangely a 5x5 is cheaper than a 4x4 supply and demand I guess. But I prefer a 5x5 with a 4x4 grow area gives a little elbow room. I use the 5x5 for flower and a 2x4 for veg. But that's all my preference and has no bearing on anything lol. As for lights ya i'm not going there seems to cause trolling

I'm going to bite the bullet and grab a viparspectra off amazon simply because my seedlings are already rocking (been dry and am getting itchy:shock:) and are starting to streeeeetch, curious if more wattage is always recommended, looking at both the 450 and 600 in the reflector series. not looking for other options at this time as these are on amazon.de for prime and i will have them by tuesday afternoon. will upgrade for my next grow to a DIY COB set up(atleast for flower and keep this puppy for veg)... thanks for any input


Roleadro 800wat blurple COB is also an option

Not familiar with viparspectra but if you mean 450w-600w actual power usage not equivalent power then it should rock a 4x4 in veg. Example of advertised VS actual MARS Hydro 300w puts out more like 127W know a guy that uses 5 MARS Hydro 300w so like 634w actual power draw in a 4x4 tent and get some pretty good results but all his plants stay pretty short because the light stacks the nodes.

Disclaimer: Don't give me any crap about MARS Hydro just using someone else's grow as an example don't want to hear it not advertising it!
