Super Skunk Autoflower - Balcony Grow

Hi everyone,

I'm currently growing a Super Skunk autoflower from White Label seeds :weed: She's almost 11 weeks old now, and according to white label this strain is ready to be harvested in about 12-14 weeks.
I'm using Roots Organics soil with Technaflora nutrients and applying their "Recipe for Success mix" on each one of the plant phases (seedling, veg, and now flowering) with excelent results. I have my plant in a balcony where she gets looots of sun.
I LST'ed her a couple of times since she was young, after that I built a screen to SCRoG her, I'm not a fan of defoliating a plant so I only removed the fan leaves that blocked a bud site, the other ones I prefered to move them below the canopy to create a kind of a green floor.

I also want to share with you a technique I call MiniCropping, instead of SuperCropping:
The main idea is to squeeze all the stem of the young branches that emerge from the main stem of a LST'ed plant and do this until you feel they start to break, but JUST A LITTLE!. When you supercrop you focus on one single point of the stem and create a big wound that will take longer to heal but instead you want to create little injuries to the stem that will heal a lot faster (hours instead of days).
One of the purpouses of Super/MiniCropping is to break the xylem of a stem which are like highways where water and nutrients are transported, so when the plant heals the wound the new stem becomes wider and harder so the highway is now able to transport a lot more nutrients! So when I minicrop I notice ALL the stem is a lot wider, so ALL this so called "highway" becomes bigger and able to transport more nutrients, and the technique is a lot less shocking for the plant, it's like a medium stress training.

For the experiment I took 2 twin branches (the two that emerge from the same node in the main stem) and minicropped one and left the other untouched. Also supercropped another branch to compare. Within 3 days the minicropped had a wider stem and lots of new growth appeared! The one that grew natural was thin and had very little and weak secondary growth.
Today you can see how they developed over the time, the minicropped is one of the biggest branches and have lots of budsites, the other one is very thin and have almost no secondary growth. The one supercropped didn't grow much after that but it is a very healthy branch but not a lot of budsites.

LEFT UNTOUCHED:

SUPERCROPPED:

My conclusion is that Minicropping is a medium-stress technique that is VERY recommendable for people that grow autoflowers as they don't have much time to heal compared to the wound produced by supercropping (if you are using photo's instead of auto's maybe a mix of Mini and SuperCropping will be the perfect blend as you have all the time you need to fully heal the wounds and still being in the vegetative period). With this technique combined with LST/SCRoG you can induce your autoflower plant to produce more budsites and to be bushier with very little stress.

Well, that's all for now, I really want your inputs on the technique, I also will be uploading pictures of Kunky as these are her last weeks of life... to pass to a better one

Hello,

Just a quick update of her! I removed the screen and some fan leaves to expose covered budsites to the light.

Basically I bend and tied with a string the plant when she was little, the main idea is to bend the tops of the plant and keep them as low as possible, let it grow a bit and re-bend it again... Im my case the plant got big so I preffered to build a screen (Scrog) and put it over the plant... you just have to move the growing branches into a empty square of the screen and let it grow a little, when it is big enough you just move it to another square and let it grow again, I stop lst'ing one or two weeks after the plant flowers... let me know if you need any more help....
