Super Vigorous Mystery Strain

Hi there!

This is my first post, but I have been actively growing on and off since 1998 when I grew a pair of Cinderella 99 seeds I got from a friend I met on a growing website as I was learning how to do all this.

Anyway, my current setup is in a 6x6 walkin closet in my apartment. It isn't particularly set up for growing really. Just white painted walls and a few fans for ventilation and I just keep the closet door open when the lights are on. Windows black curtained out because I work late and sleep late.

I'm currently running a DWC bucket bubbler for two plants. I got this particular strain from a dealer buddy who collected together the extremely rare seeds he would find in a bag. He claims these seeds came from a bag of Gorilla Glue #4. But he's not totally sure.

All I know is

A) If they came from a bag of his stuff, it was most certainly a self fertilization and therefore feminized seeds. With possible hermie traits.

B)They are the most vigorous and wild plants I have ever grown.

I have been amazed by every stage of growth by these things. I use rockwool with netcups and just run hoses from 8 dollar pumps up into the buckets on a timer set to run 10 minutes every 6 hours under a 400 watt HPS and a 250 watt HPS as a supplement. I use straight General Hydroponics MaxiGro/Bloom One Tspn per gallon. 3 gallons per plant.

I planted the seeds directly into the rockwool on December 20th. They both sprouted by Xmas. They instantly began growing at a faster rate than any plants I had seen. 1 and 1/2 inches or more a day, non stop. On Jan 1 at 8 inches I topped them. 15 days later they had grown into two perfectly round bushes that were 28 inches in diameter. The node spacing was so short I couldn't believe it.

So Jan. 20 came and they began hairing up completely on their own! I had heard about auto flowering strains but this was ridiculous. They were on 24,hrs of light and formed the first small calyxes.

Every plant I ever grew needed at least 45 days to begin alternating nodes. These did it in 25 and 5 days later produced hair.

I wanted to wait until at least Feb 1 to start flowering but the plants forced my hand. Their veg was so robust that they colonized a 6 x 3 area of the closet and showed no signs of slowing plus they already were hairing up so I kicked it on 12/12 on January 25th.

I have been keeping an extremely close eye out for hermie traits but so far all I have are some very nice cotton ball buds forming all over the canopy and it has extended so far half of one plant is under the 250 watt lamp 32 inches away from the center 400w lamp.

I decided that if these monsters want to hog out then I would give them the light they need. I bought an installed a 1000w lamp today. Time to see how these girls finish out. Picture as of today below.

Damn dude - those are huge for only a month old. Too bad they're auto's though - woulda liked to have seen you take some cuts from it and really veg it out for a while to see what you get.

I know! Not only that but that after pruning the farthest nodes from the light away and then tying a rope around the midline of each plant and pulling the branches together to keep them in the light zone. These piddly lights can't keep up with it so I jumped up to 1000w.

My only fear is "Just how much ruderalis is in this strain?"

Only species I know flowers that quickly are pure Rudy's. Pure Rudy's are low potency strains typically. Only way to know is to grow and smoke it out.

I'm not crazy. When you find rare phenotypes you gotta hold on to them. I took 6 clones and spread them around to some fellow growers that keep clones for me. Auto flower or not we're going to keep these clones as best we can.

Adding more pics take every 10 days through growth so you can see them double in size every 10 days

Those are some fat fan leaves.

Are you sure you can clone an auto-flower? I thought that it was impossible. Keep me posted!

Well it wasn't as bad as I thought. I had just the one banana flower but rather than take chances I cut the entire effected bud off. I have been inspecting each flower with a lens and so far only that one flower went hermie. The plants are doing so well now.

Pics as of tonight. 25 days into flowering.

I had a very similar experience... a professional grower friend of mine gave me a dozen seeds that someone had given him, and he could not remember where he got them or what they were, but since his operation was from clones only, he didn't want them. I sprouted them and since it was coming on summer, put most of them outside in pots, but one in the ground. The one in the ground became the strongest smoking sweetest smelling plant we ran that year. We call it "Mystery Bud", and I wish I knew what it was.

I also put one in an old indoor space I have (a half closet converted to grow space), but that space ran hot and I was transitioning from cheap burple LEDs to COBs, and as new lights were either coming in or being made I kept switching my lights around. Bottom line, between the heat and (more likely) the drastic light changes, the one the closet hermied. I didn't even realize it until I was trimming it after harvest.

So, I have some seeds... but not the best seeds for sure. We're still going to chance it this summer though, it was such a great strain, we'll try it again outside. It's crazy how things happen. Hope you get some good smoke from yours.

So far so good. 3 to 3 1/2 weeks to go. The plants have stopped stretching long ago and are just producing thick, juicy fruits. Like a switch was thrown in the last few days suddenly the fresh, fruity smell of live Marijuana changed in the last 48 hrs to a powerful, dank skunky odor that curls the nose hairs lol.

Choicest nugs pictured below.

Nice.. (: sorry if I missed it, but what are you feeding these ladies? Yeah I've cloned autos before and it worked a ok for me bro. I just stuck um back under a few cfls full veg until the others finshed up. So I gotta ask, how is the smell ? I'd say if not bad now your goin ha e some nice stink to try n cover up. Lol (:

I'm all about KISS. I use 1 tspn per gallon of General Hydroponics MaxiBloom. 3 gallons per plant. DWC buckets.

I used to use techniflora BC products but it was a constant battle to fight PH levels. They were far too acidic and I was constantly adding PH up and no plant ever enjoyed that stuff and I wasted years on that stuff. I have found the GH products hold pH much better and don't require nearly the maintenance that other products seemed to need and with a 1 kilo bag of powder for 15 bucks you can't beat the price.

I hear that. Yeah I never had much luck with the bc products either. I've read that it has something to do with our water US vs the UK water as to why it doesn't do much good. Who knows though. Lol yeah I really liked the GH lineup and still have quite a bit of them left over from my previous runs. I'm still undecided on those or this new lineup of nectar for the gods.. the choices. Haha (:

I'm not really worried about odor control because my apartment and the neighbors always reek of dispensary grade pot because we all smoke tons of it. So no one have ever noticed any odor "out of the ordinary" . Besides, I find that within a minute or two you go noseblind to the smell. Everyone here tokes and shares because it's such a small complex.

It is rank though when you first walk in the door. Basically like a skunk blunt was just burned a few minutes ago.

Nice lassys man. Mine grow about inch a day. Fast t think but my first indoor. Do you ever trim off the large fan leaves? Mine so huge feel like it covering the new growth underneath.

Just the largest fan leaves on the canopy. Lol weed branches are tough, they grow fast and stretch around anything they can't push out of the way.

Big huge fan leaves are a sign of vigorous health. I keep most of them.

OK so I know LA gorda knows better than I how to grow! Guess that new growth a bit tender, so I not trim off after all! Thanks for the nice response!

As an update on this question I just went over to my sisters house where I had given her two clones 2-3 weeks ago. Wow! I wish I had gotten a picture! They were already over 2 feet tall and transferred out of the clone box and into her main area. They were big, healthy, green beasts. Just in time too. Her Wonder Woman strain is exhausted. To many clones upon clones. She needed fresh genetics bad. Well she got the best of 2014 and a hell of a pheno to boot.

She's cutting me 5 clones for the next grow. I wonder with this fast growing pheno if I can push the turnaround time to 75 days or less using clones.
