switching to 12/12 than back to 24/0

hey i got 4 seeds going about 10'' tall. wondering if i can flip them to 12/12 for a few days to determine the sex's, than back to 24/0 to let them grow more, dont wanna waste time and effort. anybody experiment with this?

u can....but its VERY stressful on them....it increases ur chance that next time u flower it it could be hermie

stressful indeed. instead, take a few cuttings from ea. plant and root them. then put the cuttings into 12/12 and you'll be able to determine gender

i wpuldnt you can put the plants into a shock and you dont want to risk losing them overall.. id just wait it out..
thats why when i do a grow i always plant a few extra plants to accommodate for the males that ill probably get.

iv heard of a couple people who just cover one branch...or like danny said take a cutting... but i wouldnt do it to the whole thing

I did it once as an experiment with an extra plant and it yielded the same as the other "normally" grown plants. Anyway, if the reason is to sex the plant, covering the branch may be a better idea.
