I currently have some HydroFarm hoods with sodium (flower) and halide (veg) bulbs. I want to move towards COB LEDs. In the interim, I am considering replacing the magnetic balasts to digital.
I have seen digital ballasts on eBay starting as low as $80 and others at MMJ grow store for more like starting at $180. My buddy says I may have to change my bulbs and they will not work. Another buddy said get rid of the older heavy magnetic ballasts because digital use less energy and I can also move from 115/120 to 220 to use even less energy and fewer amps.
Also anyone buy any off eBay or cheaper digital ballasts? Any lower cost recommendations? Thanks.
