I have just been given one for free, with 5m of insulated ducting and I have a couple of questions.

Can I control one of these with a normal household dimmer switch? I have done a bit of Googling and some people say you can and some say you can't. Any opinions are welcomed.

Also, my current setup is very shit indeed. Can anyone recommend a decent filter?

It'll be running in a 4'x4'x6' apex tent with 600w (4x150w) of Chinese Quantum Board.

I've a 6" it runs with a plug in dimmer but the coils buzz, a variac (voltage controller) will give you 0-100% buzz free but they're more expensive around £45 for a 2 Amp.

Anyone got any advice on a filter. I see loads on Amazon but have no idea if they are any good.

I'm not familiar with Amazon but phat filters are good I'd happily recommend them.

If you go for a variac a £10-15 relay can make your fan temperature/humidity controlled + speed controlled.
