Was vegging under 400 then putting under 600... i got caght up and opened my tent adding the 400 next to it. I am now vegging under t5s.... its been a few weeks and a few toppings. They are bout 6 in. Tall. I wont have room in bloom for theese for about 4 weeks. I need suggestions on what i shoulld do. Thinking making them into clones. Thinking cutting in half soon. Maybe having them start a couple weeks of bloom under the current t5s before putting in tent? ????? Idk. Lots im thinking just not sure which way to go. I have time obv.

I think you'd be fine starting flower under them. Some people even switch to red bulbs and flower under t5s. You won't get huge impressive colas like you will with HIDs and it won't be as dense but you can still produce quality product with t5s.

Nickelz,
Just to re-state your situation to be sure I'm understanding. You have plants vegging under T5 but won't have room in your bloom tent for a month?

I'd hate to see you just cut them in half...that's growth that's wasted. You could do some extreme training...basically breaking/bending the main stem at a 90 degree angle and then splint it there. You'll end up with more bud sites in the long run. It's one way to keep them short.

T5's are great to veg. You didn't mention how many bulbs or how long your lights are. I have found that T5's (4-bulb) can keep a plant happy till they hit 20"....after that the lack of penetration comes into play.

You also didn't mention why you want to keep your plants in veg.....is your flower-room backed up? I can identify with that problem and have been faced with the same issue. I went with Uncle Ben's topping to buy me time in veg and get a better yield. My two attempt at this type of topping is linked to my signature.

nickelz......you may want to look at both my "uncle bens" links before discounting doing a "cutting a plant in half".

nickelz419,
I've done that extreme bending a lot and in your situation, I'd do it about at the point where you would consider topping. Plant forms scar tissue and heals fine...just a little odd shaped. But please do a little research. And check out lilroaches recommendation about Uncle Ben's topping. Gives 4 top colas if I'm not mistaken.

Im doing that on a few. Others im topping as soon as 3 nodes. Im also going to put a few in 12-12 early so i have more room in veg to get a few of of all sizes next run. Ones i have in now i put in when i had about 4 colas @16 in. Then topped again and put 12-12. Thoose are 2 ft x 2 ft canopy each, which are a little too big for light penetration. Gonna aim for 12in to go 12-12. Put 2 in yesterday @7 in.
