T8 48" Fluorescent Lights????

Hey I just started for my 1st time and I have been using 2 T12 48" Florescent bulbs. They have a color temp of 6500K, 3050 lumens, 40 watts each.

Is this going to be enough for just one plant?

If I need more side lights how to you propose I should set it up?
Right now I'm using a spare closet. There is plenty of room but the chain for the t12 ballast is very short so I have to bring the plant up to the light by stacking things under it...

For veg, they're fine. What do you mean by - 'There is plenty of room but the chain for the t12 ballast is very short' ?

For side lights you could use cfl's.
