Tell me your thoughts on VEG period

Thought I'd make this thread coz I haven't really made any threads yet.

I'm currently doing an AK grow, they're 1 week old under twin-fluro. They'll remain there for another 4 weeks (coz my main room is currently a little busy with widow, horror, skunk etc.

After my room is clear in 4 weeks, I'll be vegging these AK under a 400W MH, they're going to be vegged in 10L pots (potting up to 20L as required), using soiless mix, all organic liquid ferts.

So how long do people think I should VEG for? Tell me how many weeks YOU think I should veg for before flowering (flowering is 2 weeks under 600W MH, then the remainder of flowering under 600W HPS)

I'm thinking 4 weeks veg would be a fun length of time. What do you think? More time? Less time?

Cheers!

Note: I in know way need advice on this, so please don't go lecturing me, just tell me you opinion on what you think would be a fun length of time to veg for. Cheers.

Nice man. Those would be some nice big plants alright! haha.

6 weeks might be the way to go then. They'll be fairly mature after 4-5 weeks under the fluro, but they won't be very big until the MH gets cranking.

I love growing the AK47 but i but i don't have much height in my grow area so i can only veg until they are about 15in tall and by the time they get done they are around 30in tall. I love them because they grow like a christmas tree. I would love to have enough room to grow bigger plants. I would veg them like 6 weeks like said above. Good Luck..

Cheers mate. How long does it take for your plants to get to 15"? And what light do you veg them under?

I've got about 2 metres (78.74 inches) of vertical height ... Minus the foot or so it would take for the light to squeeze in there. I'd hope the plants would be around 50 inches when finished, if they get too tall I'll just do some late flowering LST hahaha, no problemo

Hahaha, tru tru ... I would veg for ages and do some hard out LST and stuff, but this round I'm guna have to go with single cola plants because I'm looking for a pheno worth keeping so I want a fair comparison.

Yea mate, 8 weeks is a long wait when your not sure what your growing exactly. When you have clones from a kickass mother plant it's not so bad coz you know your going to be getting some high quality product at the end of it all!

I don't usually veg for height aye. Usually If I'm guna veg for a long time I'l do some intense topping and LST, but in this case I do want even plant to compare, so all are going to be treated equal, and hopefully all will grow in their natural habit if given long enough, so I know if they're naturally xmas trees or bushes or what. I've had a few White Widows that naturally grow into bushes that look like they've been topped (but small ones coz I didn't veg them very long).

8-12 inches with a lot of clones is always a gud harvest, have done it many times :D

I dont veg by height, kinda. I usually have a set amount of time I want to veg but if they start shooting up in height I will flower them sooner than planned.

i run a small room with 2KW and go from seed in an ebb & flo hydro setup i change them to flower 30 days after i get the seed wet. it takes about a week for them to get a few inches tall - from there 3 weeks is almost too much veg time - they almost overgrow the space every time... they get mad light though;-)

Yea I too go from a time frame 90% of the time ... Does anyone go by height of their plants? Could be useful if you know the pheno ur growing so you know how it'll stretch
