building a dwc setup in a couple of weeks, i kno res temps should be from 65 to 75 [65 being best] but how much will the heat in the grow room affect my res temps, im hoping you guys are gunna say "expect a 10 degree differance" as my rooms are always 75 or there abouts wich would leave me bang on so id just have a water heater on when lights are out, im guesing it depends on the size of your rez too as water attracts cold
im only having one res
its will be 1.2 x 1.2 meters and 40cm deep
does this mean it will be just over 50 litres ?
as you can see im thick as pig shit and help in this would be greatly appreciated. thxs

I don't think there is any set number to determine what your
res will be at, simply too many other variables. There are precautions
you can take to make sure your buckets are as cool as they can be
such as painting them white/covering with reflective tape. Some
also use frozen water bottles in their res to help battle temps, but
requires a lot of monitoring. Where I live my room at 78* would put
my 5g home depot buckets at about 74 towards the end of the 18
hour light cycle.

A lot of people on here work with the water coolers and seem to
like the results, don't have any experience myself with that.

If your temps are high there are things you can do to work around
the temps such as beneficials and conditioners. Don't mix the two
as you will kill off your beneficials with the conditioner though. But
these two methods should help prevent any root rot or slime.

I'm not sure about your res size, but I always measure mine out by
hand and mark it where I want to just for piece of mind that it's
completely accurate.

thanks man great info. And theres me adding the price of a water heater to my list... the first thing that springs to mind is how beneficial a seperate tank/res would be as a cooling period for the water before its recirculated but that would involve another pump... or 2? but this is more infastructure and more possibility of something going wrong, ima shut up now and go read about water coolers and look at how fridges are designed in the hopes i can dismantle one to work for me. THanks again +rep
