Tent question

I just purchased a 96x48x80 tent I have a 1000watt & 600watt hps to put in it.. They are sealed air cooled hoods also. Do you think that it'll be too much heat for the plants & will it be sufficient light? Or have I totally went wrong? Any tips are much appreciated. Also I'm trying to figure out how to put it with my 55x55x76 tent which is for vegging.

I have a buddy that runs such a tent with 2 x 1000 watters in it. No air cooled hoods as they reduce the light transmission. He uses a portable AC unit to cool the tent but it takes up space. He wanted to put it outside the tent and blow the air in with a custom duct but he didn't want to blow the CO2 out. IMO the 600 watter should be on the end with the AC unit if you do this because the 600 is good for a 3x3 area.

Honestly 2 x 1000 watters is ideal lighting for the 4x8 area as long as you can keep it cool. A lot has to do with the ambient temperature around the tent, especially when you are venting air cooled hoods.

If the room the tent is located in has cool temperatures and you vent the tent outside or into another area then you should be fine. If the room is hot or heats up from tent exhaust then you will have high temps in the tent.

Is your shed insulated? Summer runs may be a little more difficult.

Yes it's insulated,, been growing in it for 2 season now, actually this is my first winter try,,, I only grew in spring & summer.

Right on, sounds like you are good to go.

Take your lighting wattage and multiply it by 3.5 and thats an approximation of the BTU/hr you will need to cool that heat. That doesn't account for other heat loads like the sun beating on the shed.

I'm not worried to much about heat,, just the lighting and my placement of the tent,, being I don't have a lot of room,, I put 2 pics up & was wondering if I should put my new tent where other tent is,, or put it on the empty wall side.

Where you put the tent is totally up to you and the space you have. It's pretty hard for me to tell what would work best.

Lol I'm in the same position kinda almost the same thing if I put the tents 1 way or another about 2ft difference,,, but if I moved the other tent I'd have to unhook everything because it's running. I've measured both ways,, but always love a 3-4 or as many opinions I can get about it,, there's always something new to learn or a idea & I'm always ready to learn

Now on the other hand,,, I've been using a wing reflector on the 1000w & it isn't sealed air tight so I have stank blowing out that's why I went with air tight sealed hoods
