Testament to the durability of Marijuana

Hello all I just wanted to share an experience i am having with "the litte plant that could" haha I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
So I'm currently in week 5 of my 1st grow and learning a lot along the way. Going back about 5-6 weeks ago I was trimming up my plant and after being done and beginning to clean up I looked and one of the little cuttings from the bottom of the plant and thought why not. So I took it and threw a handful of soil into a solo cup and in it went. I left it sitting on my window seal these last 6 weeks and it never did anything...BUT it never actually died either. So then 2 weeks ago I threw some of my leftover fertilized water in the cup and bang she came out've her coma and in 2 weeks has tripled in height and actually developed a little bud on top!
This is amazing to me. Erase everything you know about marijuana and just look at what really took place here. This twig that I cut off a plant somehow found a way to survive in very un-optimal conditions. Nature always finds a way. Haha20170826_205347.jpg 20170826_205312.jpg

Poor choice using clear cups. Also could you not scrounge up a bit more soil? Anyways congrats on making your first accidental clone. An for the record they are hardy ass plants I culled my males and threw a bunch in a big hole an buried them chopped them up with a shovel and everything an they kept on growing.

Give it at least a gallon of soil. And you might get more than just one tiny bud.

Or you could revegetate it with long light hours in said gallon pot. Let it grow out a whole bunch more. Then switch it back to 12hr on 12hr off flower cycle again. Which should get you even more bud.

But congrats on the clone by the way.

Nothing new under the sun.

I grok that it's amazing to you but old-hat to most.

Most new cloners fail because they think about it too much. Had a top grow roots floating in a bucket I kept water in just to keep the RH up a bit. Stanky old bog water and it still worked.

It's not rocket surgery. ;)

:peace:

I just wanted to share something I thought was pretty cool. I would enjoy hearing any other interesting "survival" experiences anyone has had with these lovely plants.
I have had around 20 successful clones that I've done in the "traditional way" I guess you could say. This was more of an offhand experiment and I was shocked by the persistence of this little guy.
Share your experiences if you got em.

That's how I clone all the time. Poke holes for drainage. Use red cups. Fill it full of soil.
That's pretty cool. I had no idea it would take so easily...though this one did take 4 weeks to actually do anything and the planned ones Ivery done rooted much quicker.

Is there a reason to stay away from clear cups? I just wanted to see if/when any roots appeared. My original plants were in red cups and my planned clones were in pods. I'm guessing light on the roots is bad or something? Thanks.

I got a strain that has roots in less than a week.

Some take longer than others. It varies quit a bit.

I agree. Some are easier to clone. My most recent lot have nearly all taken root this time. But I had so many failed attempts beforehand. The only thing that's different is the addition of a clone dome. And that seems to have been what this one needed.

Some need domes and some don't.

I found that even if they lay over limp as long as it doesn't die it will recover.

Just drop the clear cup into a red cup and you're good to go. :)
I already did. Lol Soon as you said it was no good.
I'm just gonna leave this thing in the window seal and let it do its thing...Already named it "one hit wonder women" HaHa.
One plant. One bud. One hit.
Maybe a record for the lowest yield ever!! Lol
