ok, i turned on the lights in my veg tent this friday with my old CG's help. here is what i have working with to give you an idea of whats going on. the tents are in the basement. ambient basement temps are 66* +/-2*. basement intake and exhaust are pulled from ambient basement air. intake air is opposite side of tents than exhaust air. ive done 5hr test runs and stays stable at 77*. used another temp gauge and reads the same temp (eliminating a possible faulty temp gauge).

tent: 4x4x7 secret jardin dr120 (dark room version) w/white panda film floor (comes black from mfg)
600w apollo XL cool tube hood (dimmable, digital ballast) 100% power
vent tech 6" 440 cfm cfm fan pushing air over an XL a/c cool tube (duct/fan/duct/tent/duct/cool tube/duct/tent/duct) w/speed controller (full/100%)
6" 250cfm booster fan (fresh air inlet) lower hole enterance
8" 500 cfm booster fan (exhaust) roof hole exit
one 5" clip style fan inside tent (i have a 2nd, but need extension cord)
temp/humidity with high/low memory.

i have the hood fan on 100%, lights about 1.5-2' from temp/humidity monitor (monitor placed ditectly under hood/light). temp are stable at 77* +/-1*. humidity im not worried about yet as i have NO plants. still testing and dialing in. now if im hitting 77* w/o plants, once i add plants, my temps will raise correct? i have decent negative pressure in tent as well. im wondering if my current situation will be sufficient or do i need to change something up? im getting my clones next weekend, and want to be ready. this is the last thing i need to work on, besides the flower tent, which im still a ways away from running.

thanks guys

The heat will rise a little but nothing substantial. I'd also remind you that (I'm also in Michigan) Summer is coming soon. Your temps in the basement will begin rising as will the temps in your grow tent. I was planning on going with a basement grow also this next time around...but then I realized it'd be easier to cool my actual bedroom down rather then a whole basement (via window air conditioning unit). Besides that everything sounds good man! Lets see some pics!

every thing sounds good, except the placement of your temp , put the monitor plant height, that's where it matters right next to the pot of gold , rem keep it green make money

Planning is the best advice I could give: "Think ahead, do not think of head"
Your plan is solid...
Temp most likely will go up...
Get a remote sending unit with your RH/Temp Gauge...that way, you can always see your RH/Temp upstairs where you spend most of the time...
Right now, my basement grow rooms are Bud Rm= 71 f/41% RH...
Veg room= 72 f degrees...
Good Luck man, U B fine... !

I can also add, that even though, outside temps [CNY] were humid, higher 85 one day, 95 the next, then 67 the next...
My basement stays around 62 night temps on floor, to 68 f at ceiling... never goes over 70 even on a hot day...
It is an unfinished dirt/gravel floor... in my 106 year old house...

If he lives where his location says...it's been in the 30's-40's the last few days. Just trying to say that the temps will def. go up when it starts warming up...from the 40's-90's...

thanks everyone for the help. i like to plan things out before actually getting the kids in the tent. little to no surprises is my goal. even tho Murphey's Law is never far behind.

i live in a ranch style condos (4 long per unit). im in a middle unit with 2 neighbors on either side. my basement always stays 65* or lower no matter what month. i only have direct sun light on the front of the condo, no other sun light intrudes in my condo, even with all shades up, and my grow is on the opposit side of the direct sun light side. also, my condo (enev on 90*+ days with all windows shut/shades drawn is 77* w/o air on. its nice and cool in the summer and warm in the winter. so im not worried about summer basement temps.

Sounds perfect man. I wish my basement stayed cool year around. Was just trying to lookout for a fellow Michigander.

for sure, appreciate any and all help. im sure thing will change when i move into a house. might do a room grow vs a basement setup then. who knows.

Make sure you get a journal up when you get your babies! I'll be along for the ride and we should be starting about the same time. bongsmilie

for sure!!!! i have to figure out how to get the journal going first.

i turned down my ac hood fan to medium, and no change in tent temps (still 77*) in over 3 hrs. i think i should be good to go when the clones get here. i cant wait for the g13 pineapple express clones grow while my pineapple chunk (PE x skunk x cheese) and laughing budda get shipped from attitude and pop them.
