Thai Super Skunk...

i was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes a sativa to start sexing??

my two thai super skunks are 58 days old with 5 days into flowering.

i know they take longer to flower, does that mean they take longer to show their sex??

any answers from fellow sativa growers plus rep..

Personally, I'm looking forward to growing mine over the summer. Most of the negative reviews I've seen for it have come from people who prefer indicas, so I take it with a grain of salt.

It was a cut and paste from another post I made. It should give you the idea about the Thai ss though. It is not a good anything! A good sativa is long winded but has promise, this plant has nothing to offer and you can quote me when you get to the end, if ever with this piece of shit. It is not worth your time. The budding is minimal because of the geno not because it is a sativa. I have two sativa strains and after 4 months flower, like the Thai I tried, they were great looking budding ladies, the thai after same time was lanky, tall, hairs were sparse and spaced way apart. It is crap. Why do you think no one has a pic, journal on it? Because no one is stupid enough to grow it or once they do they realize it is shit and no reason to post a pic of a piece of shit. Grow it hope you enjoy the effort because that is all you can expect to get out of it, a feeling of trying... LOL....

The last time I smoked chocolate thai was 13 years ago and I've been wanting to smoke it again ever since. I also love skunk buds. The pictures at Attitude even show the buds with very few hairs and say they take 12-14 weeks to flower. Why be so pissed off because you didn't pay attention? Maybe you just got bad phenos of this F1 strain? Maybe you shouldn't have tried to grow a 12' tall plant inside?

I'm growing mine and I'm looking forward to harvesting at least one plant next fall. I can afford the free sunlight and $20 of nutrients for its growing cycle because the yeild will still be worth more than that and I'm growing personally not commercially.

Yea word, I have three of them going right now that I haven't sexed. I had one several weeks ago that I started far before the others and it turned out male so I chunked it. I did a lot of research on it and found a thread somewhere with pics of a guy who actually finished one out. A lot of the people on that thread gave up on it after 10 weeks and threw them out. What a dumb ass move, invest ten weeks and then throw it out because you don't like how long it takes. Anyways, the guy who finished it out got some nice buds out of it. i will try to find it again and post the pics. He said the high was great, of course it was an up sativa high, one for the true connoisseurs, you know. Patience is a virtue.

Well, it was easier to find than I thought, the following is cut and pasted from another forum:




Strain: G13 Labs Thai Super Skunk

Growth: Soil, 400 watt MH/HPS with Sunmaster Bulbs.

Nutes: Technaflora B.C. Nutrients

Yield: Have not checked, take a guess

Bag Appeal: 8/10: Good, a total Sativa with tons of resin and trich's. A little too leafy though.

Smell: 10/10: This bud smells crazy! It starts smelling like toasted orange, then goes to pine, and finally finishes with a sugary sweet/ earthy smell

Taste: 8/10: Really earthy and with lots of resin. Great for rolling joints and one of the smoothest bong rips I have ever had

The High: 7/10: Very euphoric and energetic. Total creeper that will hit you hard 5 minutes after smoking. Not reccomended for medicinal purposes, this bud is for str8 up getting high

Comments: All in al this was one of the funnest plants I have ever grown! A lot of people talked shit about this strain without any information or good smoke reports about it. So I really wanted to grow it to give it a fair chance I suppose

If you are a Sativa fan then you will like this strain. True, it takes a long time to finally get done but it is worth it in my opinion. One of the plants I flowered for 87 days and the other for 103 days so you really need some patience But hey, that's a Sativa for you right.

These plant are total survivors and took everything I could throw at them like a fucking champ. Since they were free I decided to deem them my "experimental" plants. So I topped them, fimed them, and even super-cropped them. They took it easily and kept on growing. All in all a very stable strain that thrives!

The only thing I did not like about this strain was the copius ammounts of leaves these girls had. I mean, they kept growing set after set of fan leaves that would die off and come back, which made it a BITCH to prune! It took me hours upon hours to manicure them for their dry/ cure.

So basically if you like a great energetic, trippy, euphoric high then this would be a great strain for you. But if you don't have the patience then I would stay far away! Like I said, I really liked growing this strain but I doubt I will be growing it again. My Sativa fix is satisfied for at least year and this strain produced maybe enough till the next one!

I will not attempt to "cut & "paste here, as that seems to bring real unpleasant results, lol. I started my Thai SS early in April, (outdoor patio grow), They went wild, trying to shove my indicas into the dark.
I cut them back with no mercy til it was time for their place in the sun, (indica harvest). They, (the Thai's) were finally harvested 12/7. Cured & tubbed, approx. 40 oz. of some incredible , great tasting sticky DANK!
So to the clown who was badmouthing this strain, I say, get your grow ability together before condeming this strain

They got very close to 32 degrees Dec. 6, so that was my cue to cut! And yes, OMG, what great stuff, SO worth the effort!!! I just got into "vaporizing", and my new V-Tower + TSS = one hell of a ride! lol

im so glad someone stepped up to the plate i dont know how old any of you are but i remember when thai stick and mainly thai bud was the top of the list im talking true bomb shit sticky lung expanding smoke..im not familiar with the cross strains but dont diss the thai..

Back to the original question... I'd say 2 weeks to sex also. That's about how long I've been able to tell females. In my (little) experience, I've been able to distinguish the males first after about 8-10 days.

And to add to the conversation... I know someone growing Super Skunk right now and the buds are *amazing*! I can't imagine buds looking like that would turn out being shit unless they were cut too early/late and cured wrong. But even if that happened, it would still probably be a lot better than some of the garbage circulating the streets.
