Does anyone else, every once in a while, just stand back and take a look at the world?
I've been living in the same town for pretty much my entire life, and its a place where you say "sheltered" people come from. A town where anything you want is 10 minutes away or closer, and couture clothing and the newest technology made you "cool." I am, however, not the typical town person. I've been traveling my whole life because its my dads passion, and he takes me and my brother with him. I've been to multiple different countries, experienced intense culture shock, and also learned to speak other languages. I believe that these experiences have opened my eyes to what there is that is WORTH it in the world.
My entire little town is obsessed with alcohol. I think we've had more alcohol related teen-deaths/serious injuries than all the Lifetime movies combined. All the young adults care about is getting WASTED, taking lots of pictures in the process, then discussing them later. THEN REPEAT
Does anyone else think this is TOTALLY FUCKING STUPID. I cannot stand it. I think that alcohol abuse is something that shouldn't be toyed with, especially at such a young age. I just had to watch my step-brothers watch their mother die slowly from liver failure. She was still drinking till the day she died, and had multiple hospitalizations before her death where they told my step-brothers to say their goodbyes. I know that everyone puts their life experiences ahead of everyone else, and that theirs is more "important." I am in no way trying to push that here. I never even met the woman, but I saw the pain that her illness and addiction caused others.
Im personally worried that my/our entire generation is going to grow up DRUNKS. I worry for the world, its future, and our next generations future. I think that alcohol is extremely destructive. I've seen it ruin families, cause extreme suicidal depression, break up couples, and ruin reputations on the lighter end. I wish that this whole alcohol fad would break up, and cannabis can rise through that.
Cannabis is--in my opinion(and im sure many of yours)--the safest, and most enjoyable way to get "high"
Not only does cannabis create safe recreation, it also is a powerful medicine that saves lives every day. I know I don't need to rant about the greatness of marijuana, as all you know it. I just wanted to rant about how stupid I think this whole young alcohol abuse thing is. So if your reading this sentence, thanks for stickin' with me!
